Goes to show not all Big Time recruits pan out. Also shows how even Top Tier coaches and programs can miss on an evaluation. IMO we do not to get on Brooks because truth is he is not fast. We got some size, but need a 6'-6'2" speed Guy. Hykeem Wms or Jurrion ****ey would be ideal. We got Robby and Joseph both game breaking speed guys, but we must balance the class with a bigger receiver.

That's what happens when u recruit the best of the best the best rise the other best sit. Also the next class coming in could surpass him too so he may be screwed big time. Saban specifically called that position group out in the natty game. They couldn't create separation the field shrink for UGA and game over. Saban might have cherry picked the wrong one this time like SBB.....Saban misses as well.

We need a big guy that can scoot badly agree.

First statement is obvious and true and happens everywhere but Brooks was running sub 22 as a 9th grader in 200 meters, lmaoo.. I doubt his issue is speed..

We don't need anyone else's scraps, we need to keep the half dozen homegrown 4/5 Stars we currently have in our backyard.
This mindset makes no sense, especially how we have benefited from Portal overall in last few years.. Many times Portal "scraps" have been some of our best players.. Bama benefited from OSU "scraps" last year when Jameson Williams couldnt start or get much PT at OSU but went to bama as "scraps" only to be arguably the best WR in college football and first round pick with torn acl..

Just my personal opinion based on seeing many of their games. As a former track guy, the 200 meters is not the best speed evaluation for football, especially for a taller guy. Those guys generally are not fast out the blocks like you need to be in football.

I would rather use 60 meters or 100 meters, but no way to slice it sub 22 as a NINTH GRADER is moving and would translate to a kid who had great potential.. I didnt see him play much last year until late in year so hard to say, was talking more in general as he didnt seem to get much pt til late.. Maybe he is straightline and not elusive or super explosive in short area..

Understood, but we need to take a wait and see who we sign and who leaves before we go all in on Brooks. He would at minimum give us excellent depth piece.

Absolutely, if he cant help us this season, we can wait because there will be a ton of talent available, the freakin biletnikoff winner was in portal this past season.. crazy

They don’t always work out but brooks is a sophomore and got playing time last year. Too early to label him a bust. Jones bell and Xavier Williams were busts. That being said I’d take brooks here in a heartbeat. He caught the game saving touchdown against auburn so sabag clearly trusts him
