Being born in Toronto, as a naturalized American, my rule is simple. I root for USA on grass and Canada on Ice. This has been a rough year for me watching the Blue Jays lose in extra innings game 7, the Canes lose in the Natty and now Team Canada lose in OT in the Gold Medal Game.

Hopefully that is the last bad trifecta and that this upcoming fall, you get over the hump, especially when it comes to our Canes!

The Canes are my only hope. I don't see the Jays getting back, the Leafs squandered Matthews Marner & Nylander by renting players every trade deadline, gutting their prospects, and the Olympics are 4 years away.

That said. I'd sacrifice all other sports to see the Canes bring home a Championship.

4 Nations last year was equally as compelling. The speed of play in the first period was the fastest I've ever seen on tv. It is always faster live, too. It must have been a sight to see at the arena.

Softball would outset men's hockey. Miami should field men's and women's lacrosse. With all the transplants, plus all the prep school kids who attend Miami, it could be very successful with a commitment. They could play at Cobb. Plus, lacrosse is picking up at the high school level in SFL. STA fields a very competitive squad.

So that would require both an ice rink AND a softball stadium, yes?

Again, my point about adding sports is UM's lack of available real estate to build these required venues.

Pretty sure the goal is to add softball. Hockey would be difficult for sure. That why lacrosse would be easy.

Those games were awesome. Joe Sakic, Peter Forsburg Milan Hejduk, Alex Tanguay etc and detroit with the russians and super smooth skaters like paul coffey and sergia federov. bad to the bone
