Part of the replay rules include an 'Egregious Error Rule' that a penalty can be overturned on the replay.

Which it was.

Oh, Duke fans are gonna need a dumptruck of Preparation H this week! :D

The ACC tried to steal this game from UM but once they saw the replay showed UM won the game fair and square, they wanted no blow back.

ACC was scared of having banners fly at every fuggin ACC athletic event the rest of the year

I'm glad we won, but there appeared to be a big block in the back by Redwine I believe.

If you see the play again, UM advances it out around the 30 on the left side of the field, then starts retreating, then from inside the 5 on the right side of the field, they start advancing and around the 14 start across the field and lateral, the Duke guy who was close to the UM guy at that point got wiped out by Redwine from the back the best I could tell.

Never saw a flag thrown during the play by a ref in any of replays. Knowing the ACC they buzzed it down from the replay official.

Yes it was a block in the back dude got up and raised his hands ... ACC refs thank go they suck

You don't call that play back on some questionable block in the back especially after all those phantom PI calls against UM at the end. I think the 20+ penalties they hung on us was enough.

You don't want the greatest play in the history of football called back on a questionable penalty. They rightly got together and made sure to do the right thing.

Egregious errors don't cover block in the back penalties. This was a terribly officiated game, but I hope it stands. We needed this as Canes fans and the team definitely needed this as well. I'm just worried that the ACC will overturn the decision tomorrow.

No chance the ACC will reverse the decision and take away the win. The most the conference would do is admit that the refs made an error, if they did, and that's as far as it will go. Can you ever remember a win being overturned by any conference, for any reason, ever? No possibility that happens.

They wouldn't dare!

even the announcer said there were NO flags on the play. When was the flag thrown? did anyone see it get tossed?

Correct dumb play by Redwine but he got away with it.Meant nothing to the plays outcome. it was while Crawford threw the last lateral .All eyes were trained across field .

Block in the back calls are missed on like every other play. I would rather the Refs let it slide on an epic 8 lateral TD return to win the game

On any play with 8 laterals, there will probably be at least 4 illegal bloks. It is truly remarkable that they couldn't find one. They tried really hard.

Shallow victory. I counted 7-8 flags on that final play.

I thought you were band?
