For those who wouldn't like the Applewhite hire...

Who would you have hired instead?

- A coordinator who doesn't call plays in Jeff Scott?
- A retread like Jedd Fisch?
- Relatively unproven guys such as Brian Wight or Jeff Lebby
- James Coley? (LOL)

I may have preferred Fedora given he's more experienced but Applewhite checks a lot of boxes for me. He has HC experience and his offenses at Houston were some of the most prolific in the nation

Agree - But Scott is such a great recruiter ...... SMFH
Let's see who Manny surrounds him with, I like the hire.
 
Jeff Scott would have been my pick, although I believe any of the aforementioned could have gained more than 169 yards in a single game.

Jeff Scott...elite recruiter, elite evaluator, grew up in an elite program, has enormous upside as a full time OC.

Applewhite hasn’t shown to be elite at anything.

Unless Scott coming in to CO OC. Doubt it. Probably waiting until tomorrow so there announcement isn't overshadowed becuase of the Natty.
 
Manny said cutting edge modern offense. While I think Applewhite runs a modern offense. I think someone like Graham Harrell runs a cutting edge offense.

He's never called plays. Jon Richt "grew up" around a fairly elite program with UGA. Did that mean he was a good QB coach when given the opportunity?
 
How in the world are people celebrating Diaz as a hire but talking **** about Scott having not been a play caller? Talking out of both sides of your mouth

I could not agree more with your entire post, especially the paragraph at the end.

Don't get the Love for Scott, zero experience, didn't even call plays, he was number 3 on the depth chart as far as coaches and assistants. He would of been a terrible immediate hire, Manny can't call plays, we needed someone with some type of play calling experience.
