for those discounting the wind as an issue, I was at the game. the wind was nasty. the flags on the field goals were blowing one way and the US flags around the top of the stadium were going the other way. it was terrible. you could hear it at the stadium. it affected the kicks and throws. go listen to the ACC Huddle after the game and you can hear how loud the wind was blowing the few hairs jimbo shrimp has. I watched the game when I got home the sky cast and you could see the wind moving the balls being throw, kicked and punted. crazy mess.

That first FG Davis missed looked like it was going to be good until the ball was at its highest point and then the wind pushed it off mark. I think this affected his second FG attempt where he tried to overcompensate for the wind. He finally made the right adjustments on the third attempt and narrowly missed it. He's a good kicker dealing with the crazy wind pattern as you described. And to think some folks wanted to run the clock down further before attempting to another FG in the warning seconds of the game. The anti-Mario Brigades would have been out with the pitch-forks.

There, y’all want to turn a gray area comment into a political discussion, I can send the whole **** thing to Other Topics or you can choose not exacerbate the situation.

Next time send a report instead of actually turning it political.

Thank you. Please tell us about the crowd noise. On TV it’s seemed insane. It felt like almost impossible conditions to deal with. Several times you could tell the offensive players didn’t know the play. For example, on the last drive before half, Beck threw to Marion giving towards pylon. Marion had no clue. He came back to the huddle and mouthed something to the effect of “I didn’t know it was coming to me”. What are your thoughts on how the crowd noise affected the offense?

The wind actually died as he was kicking the third one. It was unreal.
