For the Rumph Bashers

This is why our CBs don't look back for the ball when they're in phase...

Are you insinuating that CIS posters don’t understand good CB technique that’s taught and want our DBs to look back and find the ball..and this surprises u???

I don't criticize Rumph for the CB's not turning their head around on certain plays, it's more of a natural technique that you have in finding the ball in the air, it can be taught through coaching, but it has more to do with timing & understanding how you're playing the WR on the route more so than just instructional details.

On that particular play, him getting his head around wasn't the problem, he flipped his hips the wrong way & went to the outside instead of maintaining leverage on the inside shoulder. He mistimed the jump & stopped moving his feet, if he keeps engaging with the WR while locating the ball & flips to the inside essential posting up the WR he would've had a better play on the ball.

And it’s just as easy as you describe it too right? There’s a reason tru lock downs get paid it’s because they’re the few who can actually do what you describe

Top corners don't even do it all the time. That's why you see a lot of corners try to play through the wr eyes.

All true statements. As others have said and as you said yourself it takes a lot of skill and ability to stay in phase while looking back for the ball. It's not a technique you can teach and expect to be executed at the college level. I prefer DBs to play the pocket and not panic.

Carlton Davis the CB in this play has horrible technique. As I'm writing this he was flagged for back to back PI calls on INTs that he caught.

Rumph has some tough coaching he did to himself the way he’s failed in recruiting

Bandy is limited with size yet is a bully who has to just rough up his man...

Ivey seems to he uncoachable evidence in that STs debacle

Blades seems to be picking things up but is young and learning to trust his god given talent

Cwill and Couch is TBD

Player makes a good play, player gets praised. Player makes a bad play, Rumph should be fired. It’s as if people truly believe players are coached to get beat on plays.

Every time you guys see something go a certain way you come on here with these definitive statements like there is absolutely no alternative anywhere in football.

It was just funny cause LCE was correct but man it’s sooooooo hard to do. There’s a reason that outside of QB, and top notch CB is the second most valuable piece you can have in football
