For sure gone, likely gone, up in the air

I used to think like this. Not anymore.

You’re scared because you’re thinking about what we could be, should be, might have a chance to be, and especially used to be.

I’ve come to terms with what we actually are.

Once you do that, nothing about who might leave is scary at all. We continue to suck. Same **** different season.

Kinda like when we were debating (or mostly calling for) starting Emory over TVD. Downside all but disappears when what you have makes for a status quo crappy Miami season.

Can’t get all that much worse, so **** it, let’s see what happens.
Sobering reality

You are a broken man.

Most important recruiting battle of the season is going to be player retention. Half of those players leave (I also feel that it's a pessimistic doomsday scenario that's improbable), Mario is cooked and done here within a year or two. The recruiting class has already spoken, they don't believe. Current players better show it, they're all that's left.

I’d wait until I count everyone as gone to the draft. I think there’s a chance some of these cats will get a wake up call when they see the last draft projections . 2023 film will be seen by all lol. Imo there’s some guys that are 50-50 right now. But it is Miami lol.

I think this roster could be significantly better at all positions next year, except maybe DT it's hard to tell

Love to hear this. We are a strong QB and a couple of impact DTs away from having something next year. I’m guessing Mario is working on upping the NIL budget as much as possible to make it happen. Next year has to be a big year for him.

That's right QB too is hard to say, but i think with recruiting and portal we'll be in good shape at every other position, and you're right its a money year for Mario next year

If history tells us anything - if they even sniff the draft - they are likely gone. I’ve learned over the years to not get my hopes up on players returning. Even if it is undrafted free agents.

I used to be a stoic too. Then, I realized it was rooted in cowardice. Living life to avoid pain is no way to be.

Anyone with a TS/SCI clearance know if Chase Smith got injured again? If he wasn't hurt, figure he's gone, since he didn't get any PT once we went 3-3-5 and we kept running Cloyd and Flagg out there on the outside with their huge limitations in passing game

No. Hardly.

I’m saying should he leave, we could reallocate his NLI funds to higher priority needs (DT, QB, Corner).

Is he a candidate to depart? No clue.

Not an insider by any means, but the whole NIL thing. Some questions I have are would it be safe to assume "reallocate" in that, that same money that was used in the past is there in the future to "reallocate"?

Is there an inflation premium from year to year?

some questions over all for NIL in general, but there isn't any rules so it will be a mystery for a while.
