For Mario haters

Alabama offensive line nominated for Joe Moore award - WSFA.com Montgomery Alabama news.

First off, I don't care what you say to me I am not for the guy but there are some stats to consider because I want the best for UM

Pros:
1- 45 years Old
2- UM ties
3- **** of a recruiter
4- FIU IS the dumpster fire after HE was let go. Give Charlie, Butch or whoever FIU to see if they can go 27-47 and win 2 winning seasons and a Bowl win
5- Has HC experience and picks assistants well. i.e Geoff Collins currently at UF!!, Todd Orlando currently DC at Houston!!
Questionable: James Coley, however, James Coley spent 1 season as offensive coordinator at Florida International University under head coach Mario Cristobal and completely revamped the FIU offense. Through the first six contests of the season, Florida International's schedule featured five bowl teams from 2006. With Coley installing his new offense, the Golden Panthers scored a total of 44 points and averaged 211.7 yards of offense per game but that all changed in the second half of the season. In its final six games FIU's offense scored 137 points and averaged 327.7 yards per game. On top of more than tripling its points scored in the second half of the year, Coley's ground game almost doubled its output (85.5 ypg to 152.7 ypg) and the passing offense increased by almost 39% (126.2 ypg to 175.0 ypg)
6- he has been learning under NS and sure learned how to run an elite program
7- His OL has just been nominated for an award

Cons:
1-He is currently not calling plays
2-Not as experienced as Butch
3-He is not Butch
4-UM fans are a bit skeptical

idk what else to tell you...

You conveniently forget the 20 games under .500 in the Sun Belt conference portion of your Cons list.

Anyone thinking Wario is best for UM is an enemy of the program and/or a closet FSU fan.

Among all of the candidates I've heard, he is far and away the most unqualified.

Hard to imagine Miami coaching search won't include Alabama's Mario Cristobal | AL.com

LOL at some of the comments left in this article.

I sure hope Mario gets the job. He's a good man, and a good recruiter. But our OL play has gone down under him. We need an upgrade at that position, and that's just how it is.

Not gonna shed any tears if Mario goes. He might not be a terrible coach, but Bama can afford to have the best, and with Saban's power running game philosophy we **** sure need the best. When our Oline is full of top 50 recruits and our RB's are top 5 recruits, it's embarrassing that we can't have a 400 yard a game rushing attack and a 200 yard a game RB like Georgia, LSU or Wisconsin.

Cristobal is a great recruiter, but cannot develop the players he recruits. He has certainly "turned around" our OL from being a positive to a disaster, and as taken Cam from a great lineman to below average.

Please take him...I will even move him down there for free!

Mario needs to go

Miami.....pls take him, horrible o line coach.

I'll miss him as a recruiter if he goes, but this OL has been inexcusably poor this season. We bring in high-four stars every year, and still end up combing the JC ranks for the likes of Dominick Jackson, who seems to get absolutely blown up every game.

I'll echo everyone else's comments and say great recruiter, but terrible coach. Our offensive line play has been atrocious ever since he came on board. I guess it's a trade off.

Take him, please!

This dude can't even coach up an offensive line loaded with players, but HE CAN RECRUIT BRO, HE'S A MIAMI GUY BRO!

He shouldn't even be in the conversation. The fact UM fans are advocates for him demonstrates the stupidity of this fanbase.

I just can't handle the whole Mario thing anymore. Part of Mario's "appeal" is his ability to really recruit and connect with SFL kids. We have to assume that he can pull in all these kids that have left the area, bring them in, and then let his coaches develop them. He has no identity as a coach. He doesn't have knowledge of a dynamic offense. He's not a defensive guru. His biggest claim to fame is a below average record at FIU where he regressed twice. His whole candidacy is predicated off of this notion that he is going to recruit at a very high level. He doesn't have a history of development or high level x's and o's. He is completely contingent on his staff. There are no signs that kids would even come just because we hire Mario (see Uche's comments. Mario isn't going to pull that kid!). Coaches are in his corner because they know they can possibly land jobs or send their marginal kids to our program. Winning at Miami is what recruits Miami. Mario is a glorified assistant. Spare me with the whole "he comes from the Saban tree" stuff, too. So did Derek Dooley. He was the worst coach in SEC history. It's not a golden ticket to success. If you're going to coach like Saban, you better win like Saban. The problem is that Mario does not have a history of winning and isn't a defensive wizard like Saban. If we hire Mario, we are gambling our entire program on the thought that this guy can pull in top 5 classes every year to make up for his lack of football coaching skill. That's a terrible risk to take given the alternatives.

If mario is the choice I'm done with hurricane football . Three straight ******, irresponsible , and convenient hires and staring at a 4th in cristobal.

The fact he's even getting consideration tells you just how incompetent UM's administration is

Kiffin has also learned under Saban. In fact, Saban just said Lift in has learned to run the whole organization. He didn't say that for Mario so how do we know he learned anything? Also, we don't want Kiffin so why would we want somebody under him?

Coming to you straight from Bolivia...the OP.

I consider myself dumber just for opening this thread.

Cristobal may very well be a candidate for a HC gig at an FCS school...not in a million years at UM. He's terrible, he sucks, he's a traitor, and I hate him.

You don't take a HC from a program as small and insignificant as FIU that wasn't able to actually build anything impressive.

We just did with Al Golden.
That's my point. At least someone like Fuente has done something to leave as a legacy. I'm legit impressed with what he's done with Memphis. Give Golden and Mario unlimited time at their respective schools and they wouldn't come close to beating SEC teams.

As a disclaimer, I don't think Fuente is the man for Miami. I think he'd be good, but he just seems like the type of guy who drops a game or two a year that he definitely shouldn't have. That's anecdotal though I might be selling him short.

They OL has given up more sacks then ours this season.

Here let me help...

Alabama has an offensive line that has 4 starters that was top 6 in the country for their recruiting year. Which includes:
One who was rated top overall OL in the country, and
One was rated top overall JUCO OL in the country.
The 5th lineman who wasn't top 6 in his position is a 4* Junior.
None of the starting lineman are true freshman.

Tell me again how their lineman are about to win an award?
