Alabama offensive line nominated for Joe Moore award - WSFA.com Montgomery Alabama news.

First off, I don't care what you say to me I am not for the guy but there are some stats to consider because I want the best for UM

Pros:
1- 45 years Old
2- UM ties
3- **** of a recruiter
4- FIU IS the dumpster fire after HE was let go. Give Charlie, Butch or whoever FIU to see if they can go 27-47 and win 2 winning seasons and a Bowl win
5- Has HC experience and picks assistants well. i.e Geoff Collins currently at UF!!, Todd Orlando currently DC at Houston!!
Questionable: James Coley, however, James Coley spent 1 season as offensive coordinator at Florida International University under head coach Mario Cristobal and completely revamped the FIU offense. Through the first six contests of the season, Florida International's schedule featured five bowl teams from 2006. With Coley installing his new offense, the Golden Panthers scored a total of 44 points and averaged 211.7 yards of offense per game but that all changed in the second half of the season. In its final six games FIU's offense scored 137 points and averaged 327.7 yards per game. On top of more than tripling its points scored in the second half of the year, Coley's ground game almost doubled its output (85.5 ypg to 152.7 ypg) and the passing offense increased by almost 39% (126.2 ypg to 175.0 ypg)
6- he has been learning under NS and sure learned how to run an elite program
7- His OL has just been nominated for an award

Cons:
1-He is currently not calling plays
2-Not as experienced as Butch
3-He is not Butch
4-UM fans are a bit skeptical

idk what else to tell you...

You don't take a HC from a program as small and insignificant as FIU that wasn't able to actually build anything impressive.

We aren't FIU, Miami should never be looking to hire somebody's OL coach as head coach. This program is through if he gets hired.

1. Who cares? Saban is 63, I'd take him in a second.
2. Who cares?
3. Outright false. Other than some stupid award, this myth is based on nothing. Who did he recruit at FIU? TY Hilton? By all accounts, had to be begged to take him. No Miami players on Bama's current roster. So who did he recruit at Bama that they wouldn't have gotten anyway?
4. FIU all time record, 47-107 (.305). Mario at FIU 27-47 (.364), so he was a hair above their average. Whoop-dee-do.
5. Debatable. The fact that he would retain James Coley should be an automatic disqualification from ever being a D1 head coach again.
6. Based on what?
7. And? The fans feel like the OL is one of their worst positions, and I trust them further than an award committee.

Not going to address your cons, because aside from the first one, they are stupid.

It's hard to seriously engage someone who truly believes that only the great Cristobal could manage such a an awesome 27-47 record at FIU.

Ahhhh.....the infamous "Hey I don't like the guy but let me proceed to run off some meaningless stats that advocate the guy" post

i'm not in the boat that Cristobal can't be an assistant on staff here but there no way anyone can have a competent argument to make cristobal HC here. all that "he learned under Saban" BS is pure speculation. i'd like to actually see him at least be a coordinator for some to even begin to see if he actually learned anything.

Give me one four star or better OL from SFL who Mario recruited. That IS the position he coaches.

I'm in that boat. If you bring him in as an assistant, it's only a matter of time before they make him the next HC in waiting.
