For FSU's football program long term, was a close loss to Miami actually worse than a blowout loss?
I know I'm not alone, I wanted us to crush them by a billion points, but that obviously didn't happen.
But I'm wondering if it was actually worse for them to lose to us the way they did.
It's probably not a simple answer but here's where I land on the topic: A loss is a loss, losing a close game to Miami just simply shifted the conversations around their program.
If it was a blowout, the conversations would have been how astronomically far behind they still are, how they need to recruit better, pay more in NIL, how much Norv3-LLLL continues to suck etc...
But we're seeing now that the conversations are largely about heartbroken whiny fans, to have a glimmer of hope only for it to be snatched away at the end, and how painful that is. And how fsu cannot fire him now because they WERE so close, and how the refs supposedly screwed them.
So long term, considering the fact that Norv3-LLLL is still an awful awful coach, but his seat cooled off slightly... maybe a close loss was actually worse for them long term than being blown out by Miami? Would be curious to hear your thoughts.
