For all the mopes that like to bash Mario:

But But that Duke coach in his 1st year
Some people clearly have never played competitive sports... I understand ur being sarcastic so not saying this for you. Just what you said in a nutshell. That's most of their arguments. It's bringing up any other coach but never applying any context. But Mandy could've had those same results... Yeah with the team he built his way. He probably could have and that would've been around our cap. Cause it was a team built for his systems and his vision. A team with a ***** *** fake chain & some 1970s rings from the flea market is what we had become nationally known for. That's enough for some people because all they want in life is a gimmick just like that team was... For me that's what's unacceptable. The growing pains we have to go through to get back to where we need to be I'm one hundred percent on board for. That doesn't ever mean I want any season like last season BUT sometimes growing up can be awkward. Embrace that ****. That way when we get through it you can enjoy it that much more. But that's just how I see it. Doesn't mean anyone else should or will see it the same. That's on them.

I'm gonna call it like I see it Felicia.
+1 for Mrs Kaaya in an otherwise regurgitated topic.

I rarely voice my own opinions on here, but I simply cannot stand how about half of this board continually bashes Mario. These mopey dopes were obviously expecting at least 9 or 10 wins last year, without taking into account the @&^% roster and state of the locker room he walked into.

It takes time to rebuild after years of devastation. To show how some of the all time greatest coaches did in their first 2-4 years at a major school, here's some records for a few.

Bear Bryant: TA&M-1-9, 7-2-1, 9-0-1.
ALA- 5-4, 7-2-2, 8-1-2.

Joe Paterno: PSU- 5-5-0, 8-2-1, 11-0-0.

Nick Saban: ALA- 7-6, 12-2.

Bobby Bowden: FSU- 5-6, 10-2.

Woody Hayes: OSU- 4-3-2, 6-3, 6-3, 10-0.

John McKay: USC- 4-6, 4-5-1, 11-0.

Does everyone see the progression? It takes time to install the culture and roster changes. Stop griping about the last 20 years. I've suffered right along with you. It was a combination of bad hiring and bad leadership.

And don't even @ me about NIL, because the paradigm shift happened right when Mario got here. Lots of people swore that it would be the difference maker for us, before the rest of CFB caught up.

So please, stop whining and moaning and be a Canes fan and support the team without spewing your agony for others to read.
Sigh we’ve seen this same ole ”Good coaches 1st year records” debate for Shannon, Golden and Manny. Hopefully your right this time OP

If you read it again, I didn't PREDICT 10-2, I said there were people that EXPECTED a 9 or 10 win season.

And I used those coaches to show that even the best of the best sometimes need time to right the ship.
You’re exact quote was

10-2. I don't think this staff lets us lose a game we shouldn't

@SayWhat was pointing out that last season that you were expecting that many wins. If you predicted that many wins at the beginning of the season aren’t you also expecting that many? What’s the difference between a prediction of X amount of wins and expecting X amount of wins?

Also, let’s let Mario be Mario and see what he does instead of trying to point out the fact the Nick Saban went 7-6 and lost to ULM in his first season. Mario isn’t Nick Saban and I doubt we are going 12-2 this year.

I feel you brother. But you're ****ing into the wind, we're in the doldrums... there is little real discussion to be had here, its all overly peppered with snide, played-out remarks (of which I'm guilty) because CIS has become so toxic. I used to visit game-day threads but they became such a vaginal outlet of overly emotional children on a roller coaster; that same zeitgeist has now completely permeated the recruiting forum. It's become almost unbearable to see the same trolls make the same comments page after page after page after page.

I think @Midlo Cane Fan just legit forgot he posted that and hadn't clicked my link, lol. He more or less acknowledged it above in response to @WeBallinBoyz.

The biggest concern was not only did he have to fire both coordinators after year 1, but it was the way he went about hiring them in the first place.

He literally hired every single position coach before hiring the coordinators. Why? Who does that? Shouldn’t a seasoned coach know that was never going to work?

I’m not completely out on Mario but there are plenty of red flags at this point. Hoping he can turn it around sooner than later.

Hopefully.

At OC he made the most blatantly obvious change needed here in years. Not doing it would have been coaching malpractice.

I’ve got my fingers crossed he hit a homerun with both hires.
Point would be he made changes... He adapted. Yet y'all (not necessarily u)still don't give him credit for it. You can't constantly move the bar. He addressed what he had to and now it's something else. So let the man work. That's what he's supposed to do.

If the slurpers are right, then the mopes better get in their moping while tstill can. can.

If the mopes are right, there will be plenty of time for gloating.

Since the mopes seem to have no interest in pacing themselves, one can only assume the mopes are closeted slurpers.

I just wanna be win so I can change my religion to Slurper
I mean u do have an image of Mr sinister in the corner. So clearly u have no business winning regardless. You're subconsciously showing ur a mope no matter what... I mean the man spent his comic book life getting his *** kicked & NOW you have a problem with that? LMFAO

I'm just being a smartass Incase ur gonna get sensitive on me.

The S&P+ had last year’s team as the worst Miami team since 1970.

His recruiting is starting to collapse.

Everybody should be very down on the program until Cristobal gives you a reason not to be. There’s no benefit of the doubt after what we are seeing.
