The direction he is heading now with the weight gain basically takes away his unique selling proposition.. lol.. Makes no sense to recruit a 6' h back then try to bulk him up like a jumbo te to block, now he looks like a box lumbering around and loses his ability that made you recruit him anyway..

I've been waiting for someone to point that out. If the scenario you painted above is the result of a plan by the staff then I would say that Lofton becomes their 1st developmental failure of note. If the above is the result of Lofton's body naturally wanting to put on weight and Lofton not being able to control it then it's just unfortunate. What I will say is that based on the clips of Lofton I've seen from this spring, he will never regain the form he had as a true freshman while he is carrying all that extra weight. Either he gets serious over the summer and drops the bad weight or he fades into obscurity.

Is it possible or has anyone mentioned a possible move for Elijah Lofton to LB? It seems with his speed & ability to transition quickly that it would be a smart move & I could see him being ELITE at that position.
