Focus on Oklahoma

Yes, there are 3 teams that will definitely be ranked ahead of us and in the playoff come next ranking that shouldn't be.

Much, much bigger hosejob than in '00 when similar to ND, we won the H2H against FSU in a close game that was decided at the end, and FSU passed the "eye test" blowing out generally terrible teams to end the year.

This year is so much worse because it's probably gonna be 3 separate hosejobs instead of 1. Hopefully some guys come back who we don't expect to, we lock down another great portal QB, and history repeats itself next year.

This is a waste of time. Bama has the best win this year at Georgia. That alone insulates them. Bama beating 4 win South Carolina by a TD is viewed as a better win than Miami beating a 4 win Stanford for instance. They will be in no matter what. Oklahoma beat them. Surviving the SEC schedule, even if trash, is going to carry a ton of weight + beating Michigan. We don’t have the quality wins they do in the eyes of the committee. I wont be surprised if ND and Miami are left out for Vandy tbh
I have a $50 bet that Vandy doesn’t overtake Miami with an SEC Slurper friend so that better not happen.

People here are fixated on why Miami should bump ND, but nobody is paying attention to an Oklahoma team that has a far worse resume than both Miami and ND.

The national media (especially SECSPN) is trying to keep the focus on ND and Miami fighting for one spot. The truth is that the 8th and 10th seed (both SEC teams) don’t belong in the tournament.

Oklahoma has no offense to speak of and has had two ugly wins vs SEC bottom feeders.

Alabama has no defense to speak of and has been eating **** since losing to that ****** Oklahoma team a few weeks ago.
And Bama’s OL is not good. Not nearly as good as ours.

I have been thinking about this since last night. The best way to avoid the controversy is to just leave them both out. Vandy beat a ranked SEC team on the road by 21 yesterday. It’s the trap door these cowards need imo

I liked Seth Roberson the most, but that guy looks like a born loser. He was never able to elevate his Baylor teams.

Still, I was a huge Mateer fan and he’s been very bad against much better competition. Can’t really run like he was running in the PAC-12 and he’s been slow to make reads and decisions.
Mateer was not good yesterday.
My comment was just snarky.

Vandy was 2 spots behind Miami (right? Or was it 1?). If Miami didn’t have a good win yesterday on the road vs a playoff ranked team handedly like they did, I would agree that Vandy would jump them.

I think Miami did enough to stay ahead of Vandy.

What bothers me is we have to pass the eye test vs a T25 team. Bama & OU both play interim coaches and get taken straight to the ropes. I don’t understand how these “football” can watch these **** teams plays and say they are better than Miami, Vandy, ND, etc. It’s a disservice to the sport.

Don’t underestimate how ****ed up this whole thing is brother. The Miami vs ND debate can upend their entire model. Vandy solves their problem. Cowards go for the third way

SEC is so overrated this year. They had around 10 teams in the top 20 to start the season so every time they win they have a ranked team win and every time they lose they have a “quality loss”. Then they go beat up on FCS teams out of conference so their W-L record looks respectable. It’s a friggin joke. We would beat every single one of those teams.

I’m going to be a broken record on this. The eye test does not matter for SEC teams.

OU beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. The committee reveres that and that’ll alone will keep OU.

I’ll say it again. For the SEC it only matters who you beat, not who you lost to.

I’d say ND fits in that category as well

That’s exactly one of the secrets to their formula which is why I care where Miami is ranked to start the year because the SEC makes is matter in the end during playoff talk.

In a just system, we would be placed ahead of these four: OU, ND, Bama, and BYU. Starting this week. We'll see how "just" they are.

$EC is nothing but a pyramid scheme. They all get ranked higher to start to only then boast how they beat good teams along the way. And how deserving they are of a spot. Total BS.

Exactly. The "tests" that the committee apply are inconsistent across teams and over time, depending on whether they help the teams they want in the playoffs to be in the playoffs
