Flo's Canes Live Talk - Recruiting May 3, 2026

It certainly seems like a lame excuse from Matthews. Also, couldn't Cantwell always be moved to RT if he was that butthurt about it? Having both RT and LT on your resume certainly could help solidify yourself as a top 5 pick
That assumes that either payer is willing to make the move. Remember that you are talking about the #1 tackle in their respective high school classes. Players ranked that high are likely to be unyielding on position changes. It’s the double edged sword of recruiting such highly ranked kids.

Doesn't Matthews play RT at STA? All his highlights look like it.

A viewer asked Flo that question and Flo says his intel is Matthews wants to play LT in college regardless of what he plays at STA.

Also TAMU has 5* Lamont Rogers as the backup LT.

TAMU is going to tell him whatever is necessary to win the recruitment.

Logic and teenagers sometimes is like oil and water. The only variable here is when we were teenagers, most of us weren't making multi-million dollar decisions.

Someone should tell Matthews that the top 2 picks in this last draft at OL played almost exclusively RT for their college careers. Fano played one year at LT and then got pushed to RT by Lomu (who also was a first round pick and went later than he did).
