It doesn't matter how much talent Golden accumulates. Golden could have a team of all "5 star" players and would still lose 2-3 games that he shouldn't.

This years team had more than enough talent to win EVERY game on the schedule.

My statement is as objective as it gets. While Miami doesn't have the most talented defensive tackles, the scheme does nothing to mask this weakness. In fact, this 3-4 scheme Dorito employs only serves to exacerbate this weakness. In a 4-3 scheme, the weakness at DT could've been easily coached around. There is great talent at DE for a 4-3. Instead, poor coaching forces someone like Chad Thomas into a 3-4 DE which he is not suited for at all.

Hate to break it to you, but the talent excuse doesn't hold up. Miami had more than enough talent to beat every team on the schedule this year, FSU included.

Well yeah, cuz they hate Miami. They hate what it stands for, or I should say, what it did stand for.

They know they've got a goofy Big 10 plant in here holding us back from being the same nightmare program that wrecked theirs back in the day. Of course they talk him up. They love this situation.
 
I think the talent is there, the problem is that the staff to be a top 10 team isn't……...

No, I love Butch and was ****ed when he left. I have liked Golden and still have hope but have been very disappointed like everyone else. I do think our roster is much stronger this year and really under achieved. Nothing to defend here. I'm as frustrated as the next Cane's fan but reading the same Fire Golden and hire Butch threads have been really irritating. Golden will determine his own fate next season.

Golden doesn't deserve a chance to "determine his own fate next season" when it comes at an enormous, almost incalculable, expense to the Miami program. It is beyond incompetent to keep the man around on a hail mary that 50 games in everything we've seen is wrong. He is what he is, a coach that must be fired. To keep him around sends a message you can't take back to the fan base, that the administration doesn't care about winning.

either way, this season was the class he cobbled together when shannon was recruiting, next year's guys are the first full class he recruited.
