This could be your last chance to cheer for the Canes against a ranked team at home this year. If you can't make some noise tonight, with the Canes facing their in state rivals the Florida St. Seminoles, when can you?

All season people have been *****ing about having to get up too early for mid afternoon home games in the hot sun instead of the night games we prefer. Now we got one. Now the House that Joe Robbie Built will get the chance to show what it's truly made out of. The Orange Bowl is gone, but the energy it carried for 70 years of Hurricane football is still out there somewhere. It's still with us.

Remember what it was like to hear Jay Rokeach announce a touchdown. Remember hearing Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight." Remember "$10 no blocky" . Remember the chants and the cheers. Remember the Orange Bowl.

These things don't just disappear forever. We carry them with us for the rest of our lives, even if the old building and many of the people who made it special are gone.

It's time to start bringing these memories, these emotions, these feelings and these moments into Sun Life Stadium. We are 3 touchdown underdogs at home to our in state rival. This could be the new stadium's first big moment tonight. It's time to start building this stadium's legacy, so that 70 years from now people will ask you to "Remember Sun Life" before a big game.

4 storylines for UM in this game:

1. Will Stephen Morris have a Willis Reed moment?
2. Can the defense hold FSU's scoring in check like they did UNC?
3. Can Mike James carry the load?
4. Will the receiving corps step up in a big game?

Morris most likely wont play. It isn't realistic to ask your QB, who uses his mobility in the pocket to create time and space to throw the ball, to play 1 week after spraining his ankle. However, it gives us our best chance to win.

As many yards as they gave up, the Defense actually had it's best game last week when they held UNC to 18 points. If you squint your eyes that's big accomplishment. They'll need an even bigger effort in order for us to have a chance.

Mike James is the kind of character guy who has a really big game in him against a superior opponent. He'll have to shoulder the bulk of the carries if Duke is as hurt as has been let on. He put us on his back against Georgia Tech, he'll need to pull more than his fair share this week just to keep it close.

Enough ******** around with these guys and the drops. They need to step up huge for us because we won't be able to dink and dunk all game against these guys. We're going to need big explosive plays.

And the 2 QB system is ******* moronic

Totally forgot about that two qb system we did with Morris and Harris. It ruined at least one drive that I remember. This was the first game where our special teams looked terrible. It had been the only solid unit all year to that point. Benjamin had dumb muffed punt, and Greg Reid returned a Punt for a TD just before the half.

We were pretty down on our chances about winning and yet played a very close game and almost came out with the victory.

What they're saying:

The Hurricanes are averaging almost 17 incompletions a game. That's a lot of stopped clock. It's not that Morris can be erratic (he can) as much as it is that they drop a good number of balls (Dorsett, who has very good speed, is a big culprit here). Of course, that's is not guaranteed to continue against Florida State. They'll probably be fired up like crazy and catch every last one.

Can't argue with any of that.

1. Miami players say they ain't skurred of FSU.
2. Golden says players should be mad FSU is better than us.
3. Stephen Morris has been limited in practice all week.

1. Fisher says UM-FSU still a big rivalry.
2. FSU's game prep isn't changed with Miami's QB uncertainty.
3. FSU's defense plans to give Duke grown man treatment.

09/21	5:27pm	Garret Faircloth	OL	Out	Hip	Faircloth started seven games for the Seminoles last year. Added depth and versatility to the FSU offensive line. He missed spring practice due to hip surgery and is still recovering. The timetable for his return is unclear.
09/18	11:33pm	Ukeme Eligwe	LB	Out	Hand	Eligwe missed the Wake Forest game due to a hand injury. Coach Jimbo Fisher didn't comment on when he expects Eligwe to be able to play again. Eligwe is a true freshman and Fisher said there is a chance that he might redshirt this season.
09/18	11:28pm	Daniel Foose	OL	Out	Back	Foose couldn't play in the Wake Forest game due to a back injury. The sophomore had played in 3 games last year as a redshirt freshman. No timetable on when Foose will be able to return. He was expected to have a reserve role this season.
09/10	10:57pm	Jacobbi McDaniel	DT	Out For Year	Redshirt	McDaniel has decided to use a medical redshirt this season so he can be eligible to come back next season. The senior has been slow to bounce back after an ankle injury earlier in the year. Coach Jimbo Fisher said that McDaniel could have probably returned this season at the midway point but the coaches felt there was no need to rush it.
09/10	10:52pm	Dan Hicks	TE	Out For Year	Knee	Hicks will miss the season after having surgery on his knee. The junior reserve has already burned a redshirt year and will be a fifth-year senior when he rejoins the team next season. It was an old injury that had been bothering him pretty bad according to coach Jimbo Fisher.
09/03	10:23pm	Brandon Jenkins	DE	Out For Year	Foot	Jenkins will miss the entire season after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his left foot. The senior was injured in the first half against Murray State when a teammate stepped on his foot. Jenkins was a preseason All-ACC selection and on the watch lists for the Bednarik, Camp and Nagurski awards after leading the team in sacks each of the past two seasons. Cornelius "Tank" Carradine will get the start in place of Jenkins.
