This is a massive NHL Trade.
Huberdeau is Florida's all-time leading scorer, just came off his best season...but at age 29, is ready for a massive deal, and some rumors indicated he wanted to move closer to home (rumor was Montreal). Huby was a no-show in the playoffs. Was flat out bad. Mackenzie Weeger stinks.
Matt Tkachuk is 5 years younger, just came off a 100 point season himself, and Florida quickly locked him up with an 8 year extension. Tkachuk had a really solid playoff run with the Flames.
Hate to see Huby go, but this was a very savvy, smart move by Bill Zito.
