I was so happy to finally congratulate my father. He has been a superfan since the beginning of time. I was happier to see that he got to witness Lord Stanley in the hands of the Panthers at least once in his lifetime--than I was of anything else last night. Our whole family is elated.

I grew up in Plantation and Lauderhill. When the Florida Panthers arrive my father fell for the sport and his newfound love for hockey ended up bringing street hockey interest to my block. We'd grab all the friends; nets, sticks, skates--and rollerblade over to Lauderhill's Westwind park 1/4 mile from my house sometimes taking over tennis courts if we didn't have the parking lot to ourselves. Mostly played on in-lines though if we had an oddman out without skates we'd foot it in our Airwalks and JNCOs. I got a pair of K2's with ABEC 7s--felt like the coolest dude out there. We eventually tried some ice hockey at Sunrise Ice Skating Center (the one on 3363 N. Pine Island Rd.) but money was a barrier then. Just wasn't meant to be.

Still, the NHL made a huge impact on children's activities in S. Florida. I often compare the USWNT '99 and how it positively impacted US women's sports (particularly women's soccer) and what the NHL coming to SOFLA did for hockey and variations of it for poorer families in S. Florida. A pro-sports team can breathe life into a community. I have fond memories of what the NHL helped create for our neighborhood.

It's funny how petty this clown is trying to ****e on our parade.

When in reality he shoves that guitar so far up his **** during lightning games he isn't able to see how garbage they are because of the massive amount of ****e smothering his eyeballs and fruity long hair.

Oh Tampa is garbage huh? Last time I checked they made the playoffs every year except once since 2014. In that span they have 4 finals appearances including 3 in a row, 6 conference finals appearances and 2 cups, and multiple Hall of Famers on the current roster.

Shove that guitar up your *** buddy.

Been a Panthers guy from the beginning and yeah it’s been painful but it makes finally winning Lord Stanley’s Cup that much sweeter.

My dad when alive was a huge Lightning fan so I was happy with him when Tampa Bay won. Kind of a Florida thing maybe.

TBH I am jealous of you when reading your posts. Cherish this time it goes by so fast.

I miss being an early teenager. By the way…you are kind of off as the Lightning care nothing about you. Try just being a fan.
