For a top-ten team, none of the big CFB analysts sound too optimistic about Florida's chances this year. The guys at the Athletic have them going 8-4 on the year, and a number of other outlets have them underperforming as well. This article below is a pretty interesting one. It's similar to the sentiments held by some other analysts, including those on ESPN, as well. It's interesting because I remember quite a few people saying the same thing about our 2018 team as well.

While I've yet to see many analysts go as far as picking us to win Saturday night, it is notable that most think this team will take a step back this year. If we beat them on Saturday, I think they'll skid to a 7-5 finish. What do you all think, have you noticed the same type of takes? I for one think this is an 8-4 team more than anything else.

UF is a 9-3 type team IMO . I think they will be about the same as last year . A top 15 team but not quite a top 10 team. I think UM will be about the same UNLESS Williams is a top 5 QB in the ACC . With good QB play we could be top 10 but no way are we top 5 .

The way it's looking right now, top 5 QB in the ACC is a pretty low bar.

Your schedule is weak, would be difficult to lose 3 games

UF schedule is tougher this year than last year.

I have Miami and Auburn as toss ups.

Losses @LSU, @South Carolina, @Mizzou.

Pummeled by UGA.

Best case 8-4.

7-5 likely.

The depth issues come into play more and more as the season goes on. They'll have issues from the start on Saturday, and 1-2 more injuries could be devastating to them. I also think their best case scenario is 8-4. I don't see them getting past UGA and LSU. While I believe we can beat them, I don't seem them winning more than 2 out of their Miami, Auburn, Mizzou, and Kentucky games.

In a rivalry game, don't you just throw out all the speculation. Last year FSU sucked yet we needed a huge comeback after we wore them down. Our defense dominate the end of the game. Could we see the same Saturday? Our DL will rotate and if the offense plays error free I expect our defense will dominate them at the end of the game. These kids know each other and play fearless in a rivalry, on top of that the Canes are ALWAYS on top of their game on a nationally televised game when they are not favored. This is the only game broadcast Saturday and I expect we show the nation Canes football. Remember ND 2017 and their awesome OL, FL OL is NOT awesome.

UF just isn't that good, the problem here is more so that we aren't that good either. We are razor thin at too many important positions, have a suspect OL that is starting a true freshman at LT, a new QB, and a whole new regime in general. We are hoping that it all comes together faster than expected, and it could but if the roles were reversed here we would be laughing at UF for their delusional confidence. We certainly have the talent and I expect this team to hit its stride later in the year, with Jarren gaining confidence. Its a rivalry game so you never go and I do think we have some impact players that could take the game but most of the depth and talent is still young. Think this team with competent coaching should demolish a weak coastal division, but this is against an opponent that on paper has as much talent as us and nothing in recent history states that bodes well for us...
