The Hurricanes were a finalist the first time around for the McKeesport (Pa.) High five-star and at one point looked like they topped his list in the fall. Spell has been a verbal to Georgia since February choosing the Bulldogs over Miami, Notre Dame and Penn State. The Hurricanes aren’t giving up as they look for another running back in this 2027 class.

I know I’m probably in the minority but absolutely. Kid is too electric. The same piece also mentioned we were still after MJC, which we already knew.

Given the high pursuit of another high profile RB (similar to our efforts in going after high profile DEs), I wonder if this also says something abouit what the coaches know/fear about our current RB room.

I wouldnt put too much thought, you stockpile talent. Fletch is obviously gone, isnt Marty a RS Junior this year? He may bounce. Lyle is a junior. We may realistically lose 3. Pringle has flirted with the portal once already and then we have Mallory. We probably need two regardless. I also find it interesting we seem to be pushing for more HS kids and not seemingly as reliant on the portal this class.

I feel like you are losing Fletcher for sure than one of Lyle or Pringle depending on how the season shakes out so it doesn't hurt to grab two high caliber backs in this class. Also a lot like DE, running back is a spot where a young guy can get on the field and play early so I definitely get the approach

That's how I'm seeing it. We could very well have 3-4 departures (I don't see CWH staying).
 
This is how we are closing out. I am sure Mario might find someone else but this is it budget wise. Mario plays close to the vest so he could def be cooking something else too.

DJ-We are all in on this. We will pay. Thing is this one will drag out because he enjoys the recruiting process;
RB-I know we kept talking with MJC. Auburn just gave the kid a crazy deal but there is a reason he didn't try and burn a bridge,
I think we are def trying to talk to Spell too;
MM-I am hearing we are still in contact but this kid I could care less about. he's talented but his own coaches think hes very immature.
