In the last 2 games, Miami has 160 yards on 56 carries. That’s 2.8 ypc against mediocre run defenses.

What the **** is going on? For a program built on FiZiCaL, this is completely unacceptable. I get teams are selling out to stop the run, but the fact that we can’t run for more than 2 yards a clip is truly alarming and it’s really become a liability. It’s forcing us to become completely one dimensional, and we’ve seen Beck ain’t cam Ward. He’s not good enough to carry this offense.

HB dive, HB dive, HB dive is all Dawson and Mirabal seem to know. When we ran the Toney jet sweep, it was an effective thing of beauty. Sadly, anything other than a dive up the gut is a total rarity in this scheme.

If Miami can’t figure out how to become an effective running team again, this team will suffer and lose at least two more games. Secondaries will continue to tee off on Beck. It’ll be easy pickings if we’re this one dimensional.

Not only has the OL been a massive disappointment at run blocking, the WRs also couldn’t block for **** tonight. We got out FIZICAL’d.

Let’s just say that our running portfolio is not diversified

Tightest splits and the most condensed looks possible with duo runs is not built to gain real yardage. Only time it works is when our line drives the RB from behind for 10 yards
Good point. Our most effective run is the tush push.

We ran the ball with our backs 18 times tonight. Stop scoreboard watching. Part of the problem has been turning away from what we do best.

18 Carries for 56 yards. Most of the HB dives went for 2 yards. What does this have to do with scoreboard watching lol
Because if you actually knew what you were watching, it’s pretty easy to tell we’ve done a complete 180 from what we do best. We rarely ran the ball on 1st down. Running on 1st is a staple of our O. We run the ball at like a 65/35 rate once we cross the opponents 40. That didn’t happen tonight. We’re at our best rotating out WRs and spreading the FB around in the pass game. We almost exclusively haves used Mali, CJ or a screen the last 2 games. Again, not what we do.

I could go on and on but I digress.

Simple question - do you think our running game is difficult to defend? If so, please explain how it is.

Running the ball is leverage and timing. You can be as creative as the Detroit but if those 2 are lacking they’re playing in your backfield. I thought using Lyle hurt us. Our scheme is built for dudes like Franklin, Brown, and even Pringle. You need guys that just get north and south and are willing to take what’s given to them. We’ve seen it. You beat down a team enough, you can begin to gash them.
