Fire Shannon Dawson

Seriously, who was the last offensive coordinator that made slurpers and Mope unite in celebration?
Nix.

To me this was a limited offense with no explosive ability for most part besides getting the ball to 10. Probably one of Dawsons better coaching jobs coming off of #1 offense to go with two journeyman WR, a talented but should be in high school freshman, a complete zero (and thats being nice) at TE, Limited QB and talented OL and RB but run game did not get on track for mjority of season as many expected.. Still if this is a down year it was still good..

As we sit now, we think QB will be upgrade, Oline has early question marks, but skill guys should be very good.. TE still neglected at TEU, sigh..

Pretty dam elite.

What happened to Joshua Moore? He was lighten it up at the beginning of the season. Making plays then he disappeared.
If any single player is brought up Dawson hides behind the position coaches dictate who goes in

So if Pringle isn’t getting run it’s Merrits fault
So if Moore isn’t getting routes it’s Beards fault
So if the young more talented TEs aren’t playing it’s woodiels fault
So if the run game was bland running into A gaps it’s Mirabels fault he’s the run game coordinator

The man has no fault… he’s very above average relative to what Mario and the boosters give him to work with.

Prime example is it took almost 3 quarters for him to realize the “malicat” wasn’t gonna work against A&M and downhill running with fletch was torching them. 3 ******* quarters for him to snap

Lost his top 4 WRs, star RB, star TE all in one year. Had a clear drop off at every skill position besides one. True freshman as his best weapon, shifted the offense mid season to maximize him, added to the run game mid season. Manufactured explosive plays, got more creative in the redzone.

And still produced one of the most efficient offenses to compliment our elite defense? 17 on osu, most they allowed all year(more if fletch aint fumble). 21 on indiana who was another elite defense and had a playcall that could win it all in the end

Is he perfect? No but like i said anyone saying fire him are either overrating the talent we had or just doesn’t understand what he had to do to maximize what we had

Even if we have a legit TE will Dawson use it? even last year we didn’t use Elijah until down the stretch of the second half of the season
We had a historically great offense, #1 passing game, one of the best ever. 4 wrs with 30 catches and over 500 yards and yall are talking about we didn’t use the TE enough lmao dawg

Like a python.

You exhale, they tighten.

I'm not a football analyst like so many here are - and I admire that. I hear terms I don't even know WTH they mean.

I probably have this all wrong, but I saw an IU team that didn't have a lot of plays - but the ones they called - they were so practiced, and so smooth, and so well timed - they worked when they really needed them to.

Our team was more talented, and gave them some fits - but smooth execution gave them a bit more to rely on.

Their receivers seemed to get open more and made more out of the passing plays - and our guys ran the basic pattern - and very little scrambling once the route was so well covered.

What's the sweet spot for us?
Thank you. I haven't been able to put it into words. The passing game was like pulling teeth all year. I find it hard to believe that our receivers outside of 10 were that bad, and if they were that's on the coaches for not getting better players.

I'm just not of the belief that an offense functions smoothly only if Cam Ward or a similar talent is the QB. That's what a lot of folks in this thread are admitting.

Y’all keep bringing up the number one offense, and as soon as Cam left that ball game last year with all those four wide receivers with 30 catches over a 500 yards that you just mentioned meant nothing as they were able to do nothing with Williams at quarterback

Truth is the number one offense was Cam Ward

At this moment, I’m not calling of Dawson to be fired because I don’t know who’s out there to replace him.

You’re holding dawson feet to the fire and your point is he didn’t do anything with Emory Williams. You got it bro

Right. No competent OC misses a beat when they replace the #1 pick with a career backup. No dropoff whatsoever.

Offense does better with elite QB

Breaking news at 11

Trumpycane thinks some of you guys think if you don’t have a top 5 offense every year you suck

Never been high on dawson. Always laughed when somone made a thread about him becoming a HC. Dude is easily Miami's weakest link coaching wise sve for the TE coach who just left. Position definately needs to be upgraded. Dawson is boarderline trash.and the fact he featured the woirse player on Miami's team for a series in the championship game should be grounds for termination
