He won’t get fired. He was in the national title game….. but he should. Too stagnant, not enough answers. It’s not like Indiana changed anything, they played how they’ve played all year.
 
The first half was totally awful and he was better in the 2nd half (of course). But this is the problem: he got out coached by IU’s DC when it mattered most. On Beck’s INT, Marion was the only receiver on that side. Daniels, Toney, and Bauman were bunched right. IU had a cover two on Marion’s side and since there wasn’t a designed receiver going into the flat, the CB stayed with Marion. If Dawson designs ANYTHING for the flat, Marion TD. You can’t call Marion to run THAT route without another offensive player running something in the flat to make the CB peel off of Marion to cover it.

That’s why Dawson isn’t elite. And he will never be elite. And next year, with Mensah, his arm talent will overshadow Dawson like when he had Ward.

Dawson should brought Bauman in motion or had our RB go in motion to the flat. Anything really would have worked but someone else has to be in that area to keep the CB there to play the underneath

I can make this even simpler. Just go back during the season and count how many 3 and outs this team had. For extra credit, count the pass/run ratio. He basically uses a fork to eat soup.

My guy Dawson is assss he got to go, Mario fixing to show me something let's see if he fires Dawson, I fully expect it
 
I'd be completely fine if Dawson took off or was shown the door. My biggest beef is his lack of feel for a game. The better OC's don't just scheme things up - they usually know the right call to make as the game progresses. If he can work with Mensah the way he worked with Ward, then he can stay, but I would assume that means Mensah will have a ton of freedom.
