Fire Saban thread

CMR isn't Saban. He's not Golden either. Once we have an enormous talent advantage from recruiting, he'll win 9 games a year (maybe 10 once every 4 years or so). Those expecting more than that will likely be disappointed. Those thinking we got another Shannon/Coker/Golden because we suck again this year are being too pessimistic.

People have been clamoring to fire Richt?

Really?

Not just people trolling, eh?

You're building a straw man here and trying to be some sort of voice of reason? GTFO with your **** posting and lame threads.

That's a fairly retarded statement. Saban didn't come to Alabama with a super impressive resume either. He lucked into a split national title in 2003, he would've been crushed by USC if the BCS got it right. Other than that he was a slightly above-average coach prior to coming to Alabama. What he built when given the right circumstances is indisputable.

It's also hilarious that the same obnoxious crew that crucified Butch from 1995-1999 STILL won't admit that they jumped the gun on him. Even though we lived through it ourselves, people somehow expect a new coach to jump in and fix everything right away. Because we've seen it happen so many times in college football........

He had won a NC and got paid huge to jump to NFL HC. Keep in mind that Bama then stole him with even bigger offer to return to college. He was not fired as NFL HC like others -- although he was very good at it. Not sure what you call super impressive.

We hired a fat soft Christian corch. We now have to pray he gets better. If God split the Red Sea, he can give us a good offense.

richt will improve the players the scheme will remain the same

If you cut the dropped passes in half, improve blocking to an above average level, and increase depth ... in other words, get better players... we would be undefeated. Yes?

He regressed in his last season with the Dolphins. Another mediocre season would have gotten him fired

1. CMR isn't Saban
2. No one is asking for CMR to get fired
3. Saban had an Offensive Coordinator during all his coaching jobs
4. I get it, Rome wasn't built in a day, but our issues go beyond talent with this team. CMR is part of the problem on the Offensive side.

I just don't get this line of thinking. Saban had won a national title, therefore he wasn't expected to make any changes in the first year at Alabama? But if Mark Richt doesn't fix Miami right away, then he's the wrong man for a job?

You're inventing **** just to post your dumb Saban nonsense. No one reasonable is calling for Rick to be fired after 7 games because it'll never happen.

People are rightfully sour with his inept and anemic offense and hope he fixes it instead of relying on ****** logic like "Saban went 7-6 so we are fine."

How many other HCs had bad first years and continued to be bad or mediocre? That number is probably far higher than ones who went 7-6 and then won 4 NCs.

And yet he was 7-6 in bamas first year.
