Fire Mario ….. then what?!

Everyone wants to move forward .. but between the hit of the buy out and recruiting… it will set us back atleast another 5 years … and the next guy might not even be the right guy!! We spinning our wheels here !
Everyone’s mad. I’m mad asf I barely watched cause I knew. I just knew that this offense and qb are simple to defend. Unbelievable we keep getting statues at qb as well. I hope Coleman can move. If he strictly a pocket guy idc if he can throw anything he will be cooked if he can’t move

This class better be top heavy

We are going to have to come to the realization that Mario is a fraud. I am tired of all his bs quotes from posters that he gets from his dentist office. HOW ABOUT YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET BETTER OR MAYBE FIRE YOURSELF LIKE YOU DID EVERYONE ELSE THAT DIDN'T CUT IT. You have a undiscipline offensive line. I am tired of hearing how great Cristobal and the little midget are at making them so. We have to lead the nation in false starts, and then don't get me started on Anez, trying to be this year's version of Jacolby George with the tough guy act. How about you just dominate your man and get up and go back to the huddle. We do less with more and It's going to be like that until Mario retires.
Bro I agree … but that was not the question. The thing everyone knows the what but not so much the how ! The market is horrible for coaches !!
If we throw our name in that hat don’t be mad when a ******* Charlie Strong or Chuck Pagano is named the next head coach ! Who y’all wishing for AINT COMING HERE ! It’s a buyers market right now !

Sure, If the money dries up (which is ****ed up if it does and a separate conversation). If the same resource are poured in we will do as well if not better recruiting and definitely on the field
Bruh relationships still matter if money is matched or close. If you get a guy that does well early it’s cause of MC classes. Then When they leave we back to jags

Anybody here actually trust this program to hire a quality coach? Based on our track record, can’t say I’m optimistic
I sat next to guy last game who I **** u not said during the first half “I would rather have Jerod Mayo be our head coach” can’t trust the fans as well! Lol

In the last 25 years They’ve demonstrated that they aren’t interested in having a real search and hiring process.

ONE time they did a serious search and they missed (Golden). The rest were forced, unserious hires. Coker, Shannon, Richt, Manny, Mario….all hires that lacked any real process of determination.

We shouldn’t be surprised by the results.

Not sure if you realize this but we're about to finish 2 years in a row outside of the top 10 in recruiting. His recruiting strength is marginal at this point
And it’s still impressive that’s the crazy part. Compared to the **** in the past. But I agree it’s been meh for me

lol you really think THIS FAN base is ok with hiring a G5 guy ?!! lol you make a great point but it takes time to get to the point you are speaking of … time this fan base no longer has.

Mark my words. G5 head coaches, NFL assistants, and elite college football assistants will get more head coach jobs b/c these schools like Miami and LSU who paid big money to their most recent head coaches will have to take a flyer on a guy with a lighter resume who can be paid initially on an incentive laden contract.

Don't forget Kirby, Dabo, Kenny Dillingham had never been a head coach.

You can’t even get rid of him. I don’t even think we can do better only short term. Cause once recruiting drops back to 6 wins a year
If NIL support stays the same it won't matter that much from a recruiting standpoint as it's just a numbers game now basically.

However, literally any coach you hire will be much, much, much, much, much, much better on gameday.

There are plenty of G5 head coaches who can coach circles around Mario. Example, Charles Huff at Southern Miss.

He didn’t inherit some powerhouse — he took over a solid G5 program and elevated it:
• Beat Notre Dame in South Bend — as a double-digit underdog.
You don’t “luck” into that. That’s prep, physicality, and culture.
• Consistently fielded a top-tier G5 defense.
Marshall wasn’t just winning — they were shutting people down.
• Elite roster building at a G5
He recruited real dudes, hit the portal with precision, and wasn’t scared to play young players early.
• Winning seasons every year
He didn’t take a step backward — he built steady, physical, SEC-style football.

He showed he could win, he showed he could recruit, and he showed he could build a program, not just ride momentum.

Now he’s at Southern Miss and already sitting 6–2 and 4–0 in the Sun Belt. That’s not a fluke — that’s the same blueprint working again.
Exactly plenty of coaches that will win as a double digit favorites. Mario will cost the university at minimum 25 million with his failures post September

This si what we are. We’ll stay in the 9-11 wins window most years . Then occasionally make a run. This was always the expectation . Get used to it .
I’m use to this … November may mean Thanksgiving for most… but for me and Canes football … it’s TANKsgiving time !!

Last year it was DC, this year OC. Maybe next year the coach will start getting blame? Or does it go back to DC next year?

Look around the college landscape… yall want to fire Mario only to hire who??! Lane ?? Guys let it go … Lane ain’t leaving the SEC !

What are the most consistent college programs? Ohio state? Georgia? Bama? And what they all have in common is low turnover at key coaching positions.

If anything… Dawson is the one that needs to go ! We have figured out defense and once Mario can find a competent office offensive coordinator we might be able to actually win games that matter!

Don’t know unless you ask. I don’t think he would leave Ole Miss for another SEC team as he would face the same competition. For most coaches, winning the ACC is a cakewalk. And even with our weak conference, we still had a margin of error to make the playoffs. One loss Miami is a lock for the playoffs.

There may not be many coaches out there but can we all agree Mario is not a good coach? He makes bad decisions in personnel starting with Dawson, assessing Beck, not getting his teams ready, lacks flexibility, is a hard head, horrible on field time manager, horrible decision maker, lacks charisma with the press, look s like a bully, but he does 1 thing really well recruit!

So, is he the right fit?

Nawwwww I ain't get on the bus driver yet !!! He never plays music on the way to the stadium which is the reason we come out so flat in the first half !!
