Look around the college landscape… yall want to fire Mario only to hire who??! Lane ?? Guys let it go … Lane ain’t leaving the SEC !

What are the most consistent college programs? Ohio state? Georgia? Bama? And what they all have in common is low turnover at key coaching positions.

If anything… Dawson is the one that needs to go ! We have figured out defense and once Mario can find a competent office offensive coordinator we might be able to actually win games that matter!

There are plenty of G5 head coaches who can coach circles around Mario. Example, Charles Huff at Southern Miss.

He didn’t inherit some powerhouse — he took over a solid G5 program and elevated it:
• Beat Notre Dame in South Bend — as a double-digit underdog.
You don’t “luck” into that. That’s prep, physicality, and culture.
• Consistently fielded a top-tier G5 defense.
Marshall wasn’t just winning — they were shutting people down.
• Elite roster building at a G5
He recruited real dudes, hit the portal with precision, and wasn’t scared to play young players early.
• Winning seasons every year
He didn’t take a step backward — he built steady, physical, SEC-style football.

He showed he could win, he showed he could recruit, and he showed he could build a program, not just ride momentum.

Now he’s at Southern Miss and already sitting 6–2 and 4–0 in the Sun Belt. That’s not a fluke — that’s the same blueprint working again.

lol you really think THIS FAN base is ok with hiring a G5 guy ?!! lol you make a great point but it takes time to get to the point you are speaking of … time this fan base no longer has.

He’s not getting fired. But give me a P4 coordinator over a G5 HC all day long. Check the polls for the last few years and check the coaches pedigree.

Asking Mario to be fire while all his homeboys run the school is a waste of breath.

I agree.. fire Dawson, but you have got to let that person run their offense.

Find a way to get North Texas HC as OC.

Didn't we say this last year with Guidry? After we had a record-setting offense and a defense that was atrocious? Mario did what you're suggesting and then screwed up the offense.
