They get EVERYONE's attention. Not the first time - maybe not the second - but after that, folks notice and talk. Frenk isn't UM. Manny isn't UM. Dumbass (AD) isn't UM.
Oh, the worst thing! - bad publicity. For an institution - that's the worst - something to be avoided, something that brings unwanted attention - something that distracts from the fine efforts otherwise made in such an institution.
And when it rolls in - in waves - with no apparent end in sight except through terminations - guess what is decided?
Anything to avoid the constant pounding - and making the institution a laughing stock.
Bad publicity is to be avoided at all costs.
Good publicity - as a winning football program delivers - gee - what is my choice?
