Just win the last two games… don’t take the foot off their necks if we get ahead. Sorry to the coaching brother hood or whatever they claim but this is for a playoff spot if they can’t see why we’re trying to drop half a century on them then they should be called out in the presser for being a baby

Idc what other motives national media has, we need ALL of them to be beating our drum and putting pressure on committee. We need a Herbstriet style game day soap box speech about on no planet should ND be ranked ahead of miami. The holy value of a head to head win have to be protected. They screwed us in ‘00 over same bs.

The answer is simple.

He is "defending" Miami because he wants Notre Dame to have a lower ranking. NOT because he thinks Miami should have a higher ranking.

I don't see why ANYONE gives him attention or respect or credibility any longer. He has proven, time and time again, that he will say anything and use one-sided logic to promote the top 8 SEC teams to Rankings 1-8.

Paul Finebaum IS rat poison.
👀 the pink ***** in his mouth makes a good pacifier

"Hey Lena!" Finebaum don't care about us. Only reason he's ****y is because committee appears to slight the Tide. That's it.

I will say again, it’s good for the playoff/ESPN if Miami makes it into the tournament. Double the viewership of GT
That’s not the tradeoff. ESPN has no control over whether SMU/Pitt/GT/UVA get into the playoffs; only those teams do.

The whole concept of a playoff is to generate more revenue, and it's done by creating intriguing storylines.
Actually, I believe that was the whole concept of the bowl system. Conference champions linked to certain bowl games and the bowl games then pick an opponent based on who will fill as many fannies in the seats and get as many people watching on TV as possible.

I thought the concept of a playoff was to have a systematic method of finding one true champion with bias removed as much as possible instead of relying on the antiquated and full of bias bowl system. Funny, these dumb asses are doing just the opposite. Leave it to college football for taking 2 steps forward in moving to a playoff over the past 30+ years, but always taking 1 step back by continuing to bring bias into the decision-making (which the playoff committee was created in order to avoid).

More revenue and interest will be received simply by picking the 12 most deserving teams to play for the title. The more bias is in the system, the more the sport is like WWE instead of an actual sport.

It is more complex when people forget about the two ND losses in the first two weeks.

RECENCY BIAS. People need to wake up and learn what it is. We need to beat Pitt and we need Pitt to look as threatening as possible before we do it.

Like it or not, the SEC plays meaningful games in November. And I'm not talking about "5-way tie for first place" meaningful, when DUKE still has a shot at the championship game, I'm talking about Top 25 vs. Top 25 meaningful.
They also play FCS teams on November.

Stop with the "punted the goodwill" stuff. It was ALWAYS "transactional goodwill". The goodwill disappears if we ever start to cost a precious SEC team one of their undeserved spots at the pig trough.

And the ND game is obviously far in the rearview. A win against a RANKED Pitt team will give us a push that "but but but, Miami beat ND in Week 1" is obviously not providing.

We need RECENCY BIAS. If Pitt had beaten ND and then GaTech, we would easily be in with a win over Pitt.
Agreed. We have to pass the "eye test" to get in.

Have to beat up on a bad VT team that is reeling and just got thumped by FSU (who is Bama's bad loss noone wants to talk about.)

Then go into Pitt on a ****** weather day and have our defense dismantle them like ND and look as or more impressive in that win than ND.

We also would like ND to stub their toe and play either Syracuse or Stanford much closer than us.

Beyond that wouldnt mind seeing Bama look like **** against Auburn and GT knock off UGA because if the reasoning for ND being in is quality losses that leaves Bama on the outside looking in if being compared directly with Miami.

They are setting Miami up for the ole Charlie Brown but there's still a lot of chaos that can play out to ***** us or save us.

We lose two ACC games by 9 points total and get penalized, yet ND lost to Northern Illinois and got in still lol
One of many examples to support my argument.

But losing early as opposed to later in the season definitely matters. ND and the SEC teams that get the bias can lose early and at best they stay out the top 3 if they win out. Big deal if they still get in right?

We all knew that coming the season though. We could’ve loss to ND just not to teams “we’re supposed” to beat. Plus that was the first game… trade an ND loss with one of the SMU or UL games and we’re sitting somewhere between #6-8 right now.

we need to win out and win big for starters, maybe some luck with Pitt beating Ga.tech this w/e and Louisville beating SMU both possibilities . This will also serve as a test of our "U" brand which I think is stilll strong........ WE are the team everyone loves to "hate"

Take SMU off. A 3 loss ACC team is not getting an at large bid
Agreed; but SMU beats Louisville and Cal-Berkley; with a guarantee of GT or Pitt getting their 2nd ACC loss —and the possibility of a 3 way tie for the 2 spots to the CCG emerges. UVA would have to lose to VT.

Ill drive myself mad gaming out who would advance outta that and what it would mean for us; but both SMU and UVA lost to Wake Forest.

He's never liked Notre Dame.

Ever since the 2012 BCS Title game where Big Game Brian Kelly got the sh*t beat out of'em by Bama, he's always called Notre Dame total frauds.

He didn't think they deserved to be in the National title game last year either, even though they made it through the playoffs.

He might not think much of Miami, but he thinks even less of Notre Lame.

Yea if we don’t beat Pitt by the same amount as Notre Dump that will be the new thing they throw at us as the reason Notre Dumb is in and not us.
