Pro style, pocket quarterback who is successful with the type of Oline we have. Statistically we have one of the worst olines in college football in regards to QB rushes, hits, and sacks. Kaaya could play better but you fools trying to drown this kid are going to exposed when he's starting on Sunday's behinds a real line.

Even when they give Kaaya all day to throw he's been porous this year. His footwork is awful, his pocket presence is even worse, he doesn't go through his progressions hardly ever, he struggles to read a defense, he uses his eyes poorly. He's dropped off nearly every draft board. If he plays like this next year he'll undoubtedly be a UDFA.

Idk...that Andrew Luck guy is pretty good with a ****** Colts OL.

1. There is zero comparison between Kayaa's mobility and Luck's. Zero.
2. Luck weighed 234 at the combine and Kayaa is listed at 215.
3. Yeah, Luck functions pretty well, when that OL doesn't put the bigger/stronger/more mobile him on the sideline (or in the hospital).

He said find him a Pro-Style QB...didn't say anything specific.
Also, Brad Kaaya runs a 4.84 (4.9 at worse). Tom Brady runs a 5.28 and I don't see that hurting him in the NFL.

Not sure how 40 times matter. I said "mobility".

So that I am clear, Brady's pro success creates a real standard for a college QB?

If you want to go along that route, Kayaa actually has superior college stats to Brady in almost every category. Check out Sports Reference | Sports Stats, fast, easy, and up-to-date | Sports-Reference.com.

I'm not defending Kayaa, but comparing his situation at Miami to Luck and Brady in the pros is ridiculous. We have a Junior in college, with very limited mobility, behind a crap line, and people are trying to compare him to a number one overall pick and maybe the greatest QB of all time. Try apples to apples and see what you come up with.

Butch Davis is an expert at solving the exact problem that you are describing.

Find me a successful pro style college quarterback in 2016, PERIOD! The game has changed, no more pocket passers.

Bingo. Luck put up similar Combine numbers to Newton.

If you think Kaaya breaks 5 seconds in the 40 I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

A qb with good pocket awareness will manipulate the pocket by stepping up or sliding right or left. Kaaya seems incapable of doing any of those. He has to go through his progressions faster and trust his receivers. I think Kaaya may have been ruined by the constant pounding from the last season and a half. Something is missing with him.

If he is a legit pro prospect he would not be throwing punts. He would not be shook agains the FAUs of the world. I'm not saying he is bad. But he is not going to be a good pro. Will he find a spot as a back up. Yes. He does not have any of the skills you need to be a good pro.

Athletic? Nope.
Arm strength? Not at the pro level.
Accuracy? It's good at times, I don't know if he will find the opening in the NFL windows.
Smart? I guess??? I don't really see it. If he was smart he'd know how to manage a 2 minute offense. He'd know to throw the hall away in the fourth quarter with ten seconds to go.
Leadership? He's closer to Ryan mallet then he is peyton manning.
I'm telling you right now he will get drafted in the mid rounds and only see the field if here is an injury. I do not see anything in his game that screams "good pro"
I think some of the backlash surrounding the kid is the top five pick talk. That has pushed up the expectations. That and he's s junior three year starter. In the past we looked st his overall numbers and his class and we were just impressed with that. As a junior we expect him to turn those stats into the most important stat. WINS.

At this point Kaaya is a 2nd or 3rd day QB if he leaves today. He may have dropped out of the first day consideration but he's still an NFL talented prospect. The kid isn't polished period point blank. At this point it's about shoring up the O Line and him working on the necessary adjustments he has to make in "THIS" offense. Because he IS coming back next year and he IS going to be the starter. Richt has to right the ship. Not gonna jump off the deep end over this just yet.
