This is exactly where I am on this. I don't care about Lanning or Oregon. Mario is a terrible coach and everyone knew it at the time UM hired him. His saving grace was that he was an "elite recruiter." I'm sorry, but I haven't seen elite recruiting at UM from Mario. He had highly ranked classes, but al lot of those highly ranked recruits, have left or busted.

And Manny left behind X, George, Rivers, Arroyo, Rodriguez and had Isiah Horton committed before he was fired. That's our TOP 3 WRs, top TE, and a starting OL that were playing for Mario 3 years into his HC tenure. But many on here say Mario had to build from nothing. GTFOH

Evals and development are definitely questions. On top of it all, with NIL now what it is, his recruiting skill set has been equalized by $ more so than ever. It’s like we invested big time in mp3 technology right before the creation of on line music clouds like SoundCloud and Spotify.

That's right i remember that year. Lost to a depleted Auburn team and Bo Nix in his first start at a neutral site game. Lost to a pathetic AZ St team. Again losing to people he had no business losing too to miss out on the playoffs. Man story of his career huh? Just enough to get you all hot and bothered. Not good enough to do anything of real substance.

So he won with all of Willie Taggerts players and got progressively worse during his tenure. Is that what you are telling me? Is that what we have to look forward too?

Oregon finished 4th in the North division in Mario's first year. In his last year they finished first in the division.

4th to 1st is "got progressively worse"? Good lord. Just look it up first.

Willie Taggart was the HC of three schools (USF, Oregon, FSU) in 365 days. Mario did not win, lose, or otherwise with anything Taggart brought or left behind.

We regressed for no reason? Bro that roster was *** I expected losses in bunches with that ****** roster year one. I said that off rip so I wasn’t shocked it was most people shocked that were the “we have talent cause we Miami” fans that were shocked.

His recruiting now in hindsight looks kind of low key ***. Just being honest asf right now, this is what is the most surprising. He’s a better recruiter than anyone we had since Butch but that’s not saying much.

7 wins to 5 wins and we switched offesnive philosophies for no reason and then mario went back and self corrected back to what we have been running.

this is the problem. youre justifying losing to MTSU bc "Talent" but that same talent was good enough for 2 more wins the year before. nah, its ****** coaching. its been ****** coaching forever now.

also, if youre not paying attention, THIS roster is *** too and were in year 4 now.

I only defend Mario because he is the coach we have and his buyout says he stays
I think Lanning would suck here too because this is a coach eating program.

Ok 1 year off, but you do realize the point still stands right....his best year he lost games he had no business losing to miss the playoffs, and got progressively worse as time went on.

That is not supposed to happen to any kind of coach worth a ****, you realize that right? A "monster" recruiter isn't supposed to get worse as they get their players in. Doesn't bode well for us

Your point was that he was worse than when they started. Which is verifiably false.
