we had like two dudes staring at the ball like they were glitched. We rush 3. I say rush 5. Heavy from one side and force him to throw across his body.
It’s like the coaching staff never saw the end of the Alabama vs Auburn game last season. We rush 3. I say rush 5. Heavy from one side and force him to throw across his body.

Giving the QB time to let his receivers get into the endzone and throw from a clean pocket can end badly as we almost saw. I also think the better approach is to get some pressure on him and force a rushed throwWe rush 3. I say rush 5. Heavy from one side and force him to throw across his body.
the play before was worse. it gave them a good shot at a Hail Mary throw. he got an easy 10-15 yards to set it up and make it easier including no one to spy to tackle him in bounds or at least chase him downIt’s like the coaching staff never saw the end of the Alabama vs Auburn game last season.
You don’t let the QB sit back there and toss up the perfect lob into the back of the end zone.
Yup. Guess they don't believe in the "get your tallest/best jumpers out there to defend a Hail Mary" theory.Rush at least 4, have TEs in on defense for the Hail Mary. Rushing 3 gave Drones all the time he needed to get to the spot he wanted before throwing to the end zone. It doesn’t seem like they practiced this scenario. This wasn’t “throwing a fade to the smallest receiver” dumb as we saw with previous regimes but it was close.
in the game day thread this is EXACTLY wht i said...would of sent every thing to his throwing arm side.....We rush 3. I say rush 5. Heavy from one side and force him to throw across his body.
That's brave considering who our best 5 DBs are.I will die on the hill of you line your 5 best DBs up on the goal line, you rush your 5 best pass rushers, and you put your most agile backer as a spy to rush the QB after the initial surge. If he avoids 6 guys and makes a perfect throw to the endzone, so be it. But I’m never gonna let him make a casual, unimpeded throw.
I mean I've seen NFL teams do that...You know the secondary is questionable when u had to have our WR Horton back there to break that pass play up!
