Film Review: QB Tyler Van Dyke

So, Garcia played in GA against the best competition in world, won state title, yet he played with lousy receivers? funny.
Was stated a few times here that none of the WRs on his team had legit P5 offers if I remember correctly. So maybe lousy isn't a great word but going against D1 P5 kids every week while not having P5 talent of his own to combat it with was impressive.

TVD has some great tools, but we still need to see it all come together when he's under fire in a real game situation. Promising skill set, great reviews from the practice field, but he's thrown all of two passes in a college game so far. While there is lots to be optimistic about, I think we need to see more before we start deciding who the heir apparent to King is... we actually have guys already calling for TVD to start over King Game 1. Let's take a beat or two on that.

Told everyone TVDs the real deal....All I kept hearing was Garcia this...Garcia That.....TVD has it all....Watch and see....
The only concern I had about TVD was his wind up, coming out of HS he had a bit of an elongated delivery, but from the recent clips I seen of him throwing it looks like he's tightened it up a lot.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he looks in the Spring game, he by far has the biggest arm on the team, so we should see some deep throws early on.

Both he & Matocha can both run pretty well too, I hope to see both of them play 2nd half vs App St.

Alot of people just talk on here though. i watched alot of garcia tape at grayson his WR weren’t bad if garcia didn’t transfer mid season they would of had chemistry and put up more numbers & 1 of his WR jamal Haynes signed with GT made plays like this Below for garcia. Garcia is an impressive talent and the battle for 2022 is only beginning Should be great to watch

I like that TVD got to go to the Opening and Elite 11 before Miami since he did not play time high school football. Wonder what effect it had. I prefer him to Garcia too, both with intriguing strengths that can hopefully help us win the Coastal title a few times.

The key takeaway is we are back on track in terms of signing good QBs on a regular basis. In today's offense-dominated, pass-happy CFB world, you don't stand a chance at success without a winner under Center. Aside from maybe Stephen Morris and Kaaya, we've had some pretty bad QBs in Coral Gables the last 15 years. Jarren was my biggest disappointment, but I digress.

Point being - It's such a great feeling knowing that we've got some legitimate talent on deck to seize the crown after King departs. Just need to sign Jacurri or better to keep the pipeline.
