Fight broke out during Canes practice.

He hurt his knee against bama game #1... Back in. Against msu he ****ed his collarbone. Back in...
This is why I made the thread on him being hurt , people were shredding him and not knowing the whole story. In that thread I said he would t play against CCSU. Later on I said he’d likely be done for the year, there was structural issues in shoulder / collarbone. He was in a sling after the Msu game. Folks ran to Canesport asking about the thread and GF asked manny about it , he said “ King was rehabbing trying to come back”. I know he needed season ending surgery.

They were prepared to ride this kid into the ground to save their job.

And didn’t even hide it! Losing him on the field was big but if he’s not in these spaces to practice and workout with the team they had no control like he did either. They were literally living through him. People here were killing #1 and he was literally okay with it and ready to further hurt himself for that U on his helmet.

What message does that send to TVD or Garcia? We'd rather play an obviously compromised King than take a chance on you.

So whenever you guys fix your mouths to bash D’Eriq King remember he was literally willing to do whatever to lead us to where we belonged at any cost, he failed and that’s what he’s dealing with physically AND mentally right now
i want him to be around this team in some capacity after his playing time is over

Neither of those guys are ready right now and this **** so toxic it would ruin them long term especially Jake. His entire game is built on confidence.. if he loses it who is he?
I can see that from the big picture, but in the mind of those guys who want to get on the field, it might be different.

I think it was poorly managed too. I guess I’ll ask you what I’ve asked myself. What would you do?

Then people ran on here taking shots at me like I was wrong on kings injury. Just because manny was being ambiguous with the media. The depth chart came out and he was suddenly the “ starter”. That’s why I posted “ if he starts Benny hinn must’ve visited him”.

transfer, probably. if they rather play a qb with a broken shoulder and not protect him for worse injury, what would happen to me if i were in that situation? probably the same. and we are talking about a low percentage career here.

Tough call. Garcia definitely needs another year. He'd be an interception machine and he'd be ruined. I'd probably have to go with TVD and pray that the year of development was enough. You'd absolutely need to make sure he was in the right headspace and handled it as best as he could.

We've seen his evolution from deer in the headlights in that series with Bama to pretty darn good at the end of UVA. He's got the skills and that CCSU game helped.

The information in this thread breaks my heart. I'm trying to make sense of the last 10 months.

So D'Eriq said let's run it back, and some others followed suit. We lost about a half-dozen guys to the portal, but each one was understandable and not terribly painful. A lot of guys stayed who many expected to go. Rambo, Stevenson, and D. Johnson transferred in.

We watched the spring game. The team looked good, and there seemed to be a really positive vibe. I remember a tweet from Harley like, "I'm really proud of this team." Manny was talking about greatness. There seemed to be something really good coming.

Then the season starts. I don't need to recap what has happened in the games, but my point is that, within 6 weeks, we went from 'everyone is all in on greatness' to an absolute, unmitigated cluster**** where players are gossiping like middle-school girls and jumping each other in practice. Manny needs to go into witness protection, and Blake needs to go with him. It is an all-but-literal dumpster fire.

I guess I'm wondering how it all went from so good to so bad, so fast. Or was it ever that good?

****
I’ll never understand this. Where was he gonna go ? The NFL?

Yeaaa its over...... Before I was like whatever. Everything will take care of itself, but now, Ive lost all motivation for cheering this team on now and Im officially in hate/mope mode with Manny after the crap they pulled with King. Got this fanbase taking unnecessary shots at King who saved his **** last year. What irks me even more is that (iirc) Manny not once took to the podium to defend King or tell everyone he was playing with an injury (it was obvious, thats why I say F you to everyone that shyted on him) during that stretch before he sat out.

Im also done taking up for most of these players after this high school drama ****. Harley (a supposed leader, and calls others out for not working hard enough) is on his last run to make it to the league but he is upset because his lame **** couldnt get in the club? Gurvan got picked on last (every) game, cant cover a pot on the stove, and constantly making C'mon Man plays, yet steals one of the only person on our D who plays with passion? How tf do you have the audacity to come at anybody with the way he has been playing? He should be sucking mannys dyck because with any other coach, his **** would be permanently on the bench. Nesta must be selling wolf tickets because ppl know who to try. I promise Hall wouldnt have stole Nesta if he knew it would be repercussions after practice where nobody will break it up. I hope to hear of Hall coming at #0 sideways and how it turns out.

Yeah. I think even if Garcia was healthy you should just stick it out with TVD for the year because you saw him grow up right before your eyes. Let them compete in the off-season (with a new coach to decide) but I think TVD is a good starter. The guys who just blindly wanted Garcia were rooting for a disaster.

Knowing the truth behind that story that's why you can't put more than a grain of salt into fans momentary outbursts. That kid earned all of our respect and will always have mine. I just wish he would've got a staff he deserved instead of this side show. I would've been proud to have him as a teammate.
