Fight broke out during Canes practice.

it was a bs dust up. it was a planed leak to the press to make it look like the team isn't soft.
rumors.webp

If manny really did leak this (and I am not insinuating at all that nycane isn’t correct), does it even make the team look tougher?

Maybe I know too much about Miami, so I can’t look at things from an outsiders perspective? But all I see is disfunction. There’s nothing tough about this story.

I’ve been giving examples all through this thread. Ive posted in the past kids here like what comes with playing football at UM, not the actual work that you have to do to be great. I will say the youngsters have the best attitude and seem to get it. There is some guys that care.
Problem is, the environment they’re surrounded by will most likely corrupt them.

Whats not tough about pregnant football players fighting?

Especially because they were crying over having to run more sprints.

To me, tough is finishing the sprints and then doing 5 more. Idk.
I think the purpose of the alleged intentional leak was likely an attempt to make it look like there are leaders on the team stepping up and holding other “leaders” accountable.

The problem is, it seems most Miami fans know better. But we don’t matter, not really.

The question is, did the intended messaging of this whole charade and subsequent “leak” reach the people that really do matter?

These are the circumstances that create strong leaders. There is so much testosterone in a football locker room that sometimes it really comes down to the true alphas asserting themselves over the others. These same guys weren't speaking up but Manny created a climate where they are forced to. Manny knew he had no real leaders in the locker room. He wanted players to hold other players accountable and its working.

Leaders will come out of this.
Look, I truly hope you're right. I love my Canes and always wish them success. And yes, I do very well remember the football locker room. Lotttt of testosterone indeed.

This could very well be the catalyst these guys needed to refocus themselves and for the team leaders to assert themselves. I have my doubts though, to be honest. I think the train is too far gone down the track. Had this happened say right after the App St. close victory, I'd feel better about it. But they've waited until after an average MSU team stomped them at HRS AND losing to a below average UVA squad - at HRS.

Also, the team is so poorly coached - bad schemes, no discipline, **** ton of penalties - and we've got so many positions with bad talent that even if they do play inspired ball as a cohesive unit, they won't be able to overcome these deficiencies.

Just not seeing any hope for the season other than to get the young talent some burn.

Richt was a disciplinarian. He was just burnt out. Having a burnt out disciplinarian is far better than what Diaz offers.

Diaz wants to be liked. That's bad. You shouldn't give a **** about being liked, you want to be respected. There's a difference, Diaz just hasn't figured it out and likely never will.

I'm assuming it wasn't this bad, even under Coker and Golden.
he won't. he isn't built like that.

This happened at EVERY SINGLE FOOTBALL TEAM I PLAYED ON...FROM 9TH GRADE ALL THE WAY TO 4 YEARS OF COLLEGE............EVERY SZN LOL
But as we know very well, there's two kinds of team fights. A. The good fights that are much needed when a good team knows there is a lot at stake and just needs to be refocused and re-inspired, and then there B. The bad fights - when the team is ***, the players have checked out, there's zero respect for the coach who has lost the locker room, and the players couldn't give a **** anymore.

This ain't A.
