Fermaninator says get your Adidas Cane gear

I would rather have UA if it came down to it, they're a football company through and through and there gear is nice.

Still think Adidas makes dope shoes tho

I am shocked at some of you that are making a big deal of this. anything that brings the program more money is a good thing in my book. and this is probably a non- issue to most recruits. plus adidas makes cooler superior quality gear than nike in my opinion.

Man, **** Nike. I haven't bought any of there crap for well over a decade. I absolutely despise that brand and a switch to anyone else would be a win since there would be more shirts and stuff available.

Nike has made arguably our worst looking uniforms to date. That doesn't only go for us, but dozens of other schools across the country. Nike has all but erased tradition out of the uniforms in general and several schools all sport the same basic design. It's a bunch of lazy cookie cutting design at work the last decade.

I didn't read the entire 12 pages, so hopefully it's still likely to happen.

This thread is hilarious. Of all the problems plaguing this program right now, the uniform manufacturer is the least of my concerns. I'm pretty sure at least 3 of the top 10 schools in the current 2015 recruiting rankings are Adidas schools.

3 adidas 3 UA. in top 15. 1 ua and 1 adidas in top 10

ZERO in the playoff.

thats not bc of the brand they wear. look at those four schools and who coaches them? did urban meyer get all those recruits or coach better bc his guys were wearing nike at UF and at OSU? he was down to this third string qb and made him look like a god in a week. thats coaching not apparel effect. i dont really care what the school does in regards to the apparel manufacturer bc i dont have a problem w either company. if it looks good and has a U on it, ill buy it. dont mess w traditional white helmets and the U and nike did 1 of the 2 and then made us look like FAMU. thats unforgivable. I'm all for a change in uniforms if it gets us back to a normal looking design (no bra straps, juice bull****, or unibrow). the last great jersey we had was from 2000-2003. once again, i buy from UA, Nike, and Adidas for my athletic wear. i dont really have a bias towards any company.

Have you guys not seen our unis the past 10-15 years? Besides the 2014 variety, they've been duds. Nike has been falling asleep at the wheel (look at what they did to FSU - they made them BC) and I'm sure getting a fresh take on our brand will be welcomed. Addidas has shown they can come out with some fly stuff (TAMU, Louisville, UCLA, etc.).

Which ranking outlet are you referencing? Per Rivals, I see the following Adidas schools in the top 10:
Tennessee (5)
Texas a&m (7)
Notre Dame (8)

Regardless, the point is that other schools are doing just fine in recruiting despite the Adidas uniforms. It's laughable that some fans are getting so worked up over this.

Nike did not make anybody look like FAMU, they gave the team interchangeable jerseys, pants, and helmets. They did not force UM to wear any particular look, last i heard that was up to the team to choose what they wear on game days. All the traditional combos look awesome (green/white, orange/white, white/white) with the traditional helmets.

i went by ESPN and i think Tenn switched companies according to earlier poster. ND is UA now but u can count their previous recrutiing rankings to adidas outside of this 2015 season.

also, in regards to football recruiting, oregon is currently 19th in rankings, finished 27th last year, 26th in 2013, 18 in 2012, 14 in 2011, 22 in 2010. chip kelly left for the eagles after the 2012 season btw.

who gave us the stupid helmets?

TAMU seems to be doing fine in recruiting.

This would affect bball recruiting more IMO

i agree w bball recruiting but I dont think we would have a shot at a 1 and done until we win a title. Billy D didnt get his first one and done until a couple years ago (beal) and he has 2 titles and sent 3 first lottery picks in one draft (the 04ers - Noah, Horford, Brewer). coach L so far has built miami on transfers (larkin, Sheldon Mac, Angel, Kadji) and we just got our highest rated recruit in Newton this year. it'll take a title to change it. also, didnt coach cal have adidas at memphis till 2008 when he was leading em to a title game and landing top rated players? they switched in nov 2008 after the title season (rose led team). memphis isn't close to where they were w coach Cal and he helped kentucky get back to where they were overnight after Billy G. (w.e. his last name is) almost killed it.

It only helps IF (notice the "if") we spend additional money on the program. Who knows what our stupid admin does with the additional revenues from this and the TV contract? There is no proof there investing real money in athletics.

Im pretty sure nobody forced UM to take the helmets, or wear them for that matter.

So many people saying "well if that $3 mill goes to buying out Golden's contract"

Guess what, with this administration who stands behind Golden will just spread that money around and I can almost guarantee you that it will not go to buying out Golden's contract.

You guys know this administration is just greedy and really could care less about being a competitive football program, so I fully expect that $3 mill to be spread around the entire university if not at least all of our sports programs.

This would not be $3 mill to the football program.

I could care less if my Canes t shirt is Addidas or Nike, but you know who cares if we wear nike cleats, gloves, uniforms, visors etc...?

Recruits, and they are the ones that matter.

the nike money was spread around because it's an all-sport contract. no way adidas would give 3 million annually for just football.

look at Matt Porter's blog and you tell me if it's not a big deal to recruits or not. Plus you're talking more money on the front end...not more money on the back end. my gut is that nike will match or make a considerable offer since our partnership w/ nike was the first of its kind in the first place.
