Fermaninator says get your Adidas Cane gear

### We hear the UM basketball staff is very concerned about the possibility of UM switching from Nike to Under Armour or Adidas (after August 2015) because of the negative impact it potentially would have on recruiting. UM is pursuing several players with Nike ties, including some who play for Nike AAU teams. Those players often are pushed toward Nike schools. Though UM informed Nike it will listen to other offers, no decision has been announced.

Well we know Miami will cave to basketball over the 3 mil we could use on football b/c after all, this is a ****** nerd basketball school now.

Coach L knows that even with all of his mojo it would be hard to sell recruits on Miami's newly created neon green and orange unis by Adidas.

I expect Nike to throw in more perks for Miami to stay with them. However, this current administration is so money hungry they may end up taking any deal.

The only thing that Adidas did that was worth a darn was when RGIII was at Baylor. Their t-shirts were on point...

If Nike doesn't up their offer, and the school stays with them ... You'll have full validation for this position.

No doubt ... Nike is better for basketball recruiting. But it's more about the AAU "coaches/handlers" getting their checks from Nike, than the kid's really having some aversion to Adidas or UA.

But for basketball's sake ... That would suggest Adidas would be the only real alternative.

And since Louisville still gets quality classes with their Adidas apparel ... I suggest Coach L and staff just need to go after every kid Petino pursues. I have to think he would get enough of those kids to choose Miami to field quality teams.

And as Adidas builds up their "grassroots" programs, the pool of Adidas kids will grow.

Addidas schools seem to be doing fine in basketball. Last 3 years Michigan, Wisconsin, Louisville and Kansas have all been to final fours. 5 addidas appearances vs 7 for nike despite Nike having a much larger pool of teams.

Nike is just a better look and fits with Miami. Let's change coaches, not apparel. The money the U will receive by bringing in a hot name will more then make up for that 3M.
Kaaya alone is going to fill seats. You give him a head coach and the place will be min 50k each week.

Miami is none of those schools in basketball

There what is? We all knew shoe brand matters more in bball than in football. And, it matters more in basketball not because of quality (these shoes are made in the same factory) - it matters more because of money. Period.

Wasn't it Auburn's basketball team a few years ago that went off because they were switching to under-armor and wanted to quit because they wanted to wear nike? It definitely does impact recruits.. we would probably end up having the best soccer team in the country though if thats what they want

Yea it really messed up Louisville and Michigan when they played for the national championship in basketball.

Im just saying if anything only under-armor would really effect basketball.. adidas would most effect football imo

I just find it so funny that so many people are saying they'll never rock an Adidas jersey when most sports fans these days are wearing KNOCK OFF jerseys from China.

Who cares about what jerseys they are buying from the store the concern should be recruiting and how it will effect that. Then how well adidas is going to represent the Miami brand or are they going to ruin it and go neon colors or something and make them look like **** clowns.

You do realize that Adidas have been around since the 1920's correct? They will never build their grassroots in this arena. Their arena is futbol not football.
