Ferman Suggesting Golden Going to Rutgers?

That move would make perfect sense for everyone. Buttgers could pitch it like they stole the HC from a power program, so their dopey fans would get excited. They could win the press conference with that hire.

Folden can pitch it as a return home and be a hero for winning 8 or 9 games in a lame ACC level conference.

Folden is a politician. He knows the walls are closing in on him here. He already tried to skulk off in the middle of the night after last season. I'm sure he learned his lesson from that and will only head up there after they send him a buttoned up contract.

Apparently it's on the premium portion, but as reported over at WEZ, this is what's suggested.

Please God, carry this SOB back to Jersey.

That is total BS. Ferman said no such thing at all. He didn't even say that Golden has an offer from Rutgers.

I think you intentionally wrote a provocative headline hoping that somebody who paid for a subscription would come here and paste Ferman's article in this thread. If you want to read what Ferman has to say, you should subscribe. If you don't care what he says, then don't come here trolling and wasting everybody else's time.

How much is it to join?

I call bull crap on AG leaving for Rutgers. Rutgers just gave their head coach Kyle Flood a 2 year extension and 30% raise, he will now make $1.3 mill a year an more importantly will be the highest paid new Jersey state employee. An rutgers had to get private funding to supplement Flood's salary from the base $925k, so now to drop $3 or $4 mill a year for Golden is out of the question for the state university of New Jersey.

Kyle Flood's extension details

RU BOD approve Kyle Flood's extension.

Bottom line Rutgers broke the bank for Greg Schiano when they paid him $2.3 mill and they had literally mortgage the farm ( they gave Schiano a $800k forgivable loan to build his house) .

I think AG stays at Miami but adapts to the miami way.

Talk about walls closing in on him - he can't even scapegoat anyone anymore. He lost his chance to scapegoat his buddy and he ain't scapegoating Coley. Everything points to him now and he can no longer deflect by scapegoating/.

Leave a loaded UM team who just took the national champs to the wire for a Rutgers team without a pulse?

C'mon

It is about his future. Three things:

1. He doesn't get 2 or more years here based on these current results (should be fired already but not the point).

2. He may get 3-4 more years at another program like Rutgers with lower expectations. He knows NJ and he may be better suited in the Big 10.

3. He needs to weigh his options and do a cost benefit analysis. If he wants to remain in coaching and start again (i.e. clean slate), he should leave now. If he leaves (i.e. like Muschamp with a buyout) it will be difficult to get another HC gig.

My thoughts exactly. Golden is a smart guy; he must know the writing is on the wall, notwithstanding that it may be a couple of years before the axe actually fell.

The real question for me is whether Rutgers really wants him. I hope so, but not convinced.

Flood is not popular amongst Rutgers fans and he can't recruit at all. If their season shakes out at 6-6, he may be fired seeing as he went 6-7 last year.

That being said, highly doubt Golden leaves for Rutgers. If he would voluntarily leave for anywhere, I would expect it to be Virginia. You can tell from his quotes he has a lot of fond memories there and he would be getting a raise.

UVA doesn't typically pay their coaches all that well. I can see Buttgers opening the coffers looking for a return to the Monkey Boy glory years. And Fat Greaseball would be a perfect story in his return home.

Please may Ferman be John The Baptist:

Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.

Go **** yourself. Sideways.
