Ferman says Blake is feeling the heat

Good, keep applying that pressure. The man ******* sucks at his job, he shouldn’t be comfortable.
Correct, he is doing a terrible job IMHO. However, on a day-to-day basis it is Jenn Straws that is effectively the AD. There's a video on this site in which she makes it very clear that Bl@ke involves her heavily in decision-making. She doesn't just filter information as Assistant AD and present it. She is asked for her opinion (including on Football matters).

In other words, Bl@ke really probably limits his activities to interfacing with:

  • the President
  • Golden Canes
  • Key donors
  • Playing Solitaire on his computer

He also isn't from a school that competed at an elite level in Athletics. Probably has no idea what elite Football should look like. This isn't a flame. Our program has been woeful compared to what it should be....and that's under his "leadership".

BJ and Diaz are more worried about keeping power and being prideful than they are at trying to get this thing fixed and the program turned around for the better. Otherwise, they should look to do whatever they can to get this turned around even if it means losing power to an Exec football hire such as Highsmith. Both James and Diaz are cancers who hopefully won't be here after 2020.

Agreed. This is why neither will be successful here. Time to move on.

We'll see how good of a fundraiser he is now that half of the boosters have pitchforks out

People donated money because of Mark Richt and his reputation and cache.... had nothing to do with Blake James.

Guarantee you that donations right now are at a minimum.
And it's why Blake has done 2 pubic interviews the last 2 days. You know he wants no part of them.

James keeps saying that he understands that a 6-7 season isn't acceptable. He doesn't get it. The issue isn't a 6-7 season, it is that the program has been utterly irrelevant for nearly 2 decades (with the exception of 2017). Adding a few more staffers to the athletic dept or hoping Diaz makes a good OC pick doesn't fix the bigger problem. Miami needs a massive change in how it is approaches college football. These little adjustments aren't going to fix anything.
100% correct, Diaz and BJ think a few staff changes will take care of everything .... BJ and Strawely could not get it right with an instruction manual

avoid this issue totally appoint Highsmith as AD, guy has a ton of experience, let Strawley do admin detail

After any 6-6, sorry 6-7, season there should always be pressure. Any AD and/or coach worth their salt should embrace that. The pressure ought to be echoing what that coach is already demanding of his staff and what that AD is demanding of that coach.

He aint feeling ****

And Ferman sure as **** wouldn't know it
I’m not plugged in for ****. But I will say that it’s pretty obvious that Blake is getting some heat behind the scenes. I could be wrong because at the end of the day we all know who’s in charge of this **** show.

They could just fire him, hire a very qualified AD with experience running a successful football program, and step out of his way....

But that's too easy
Maybe we could get the AD from bama...

"Byrne is set to earn $980,000 this year with the salary rising to $1.13 million in his final year."

Sounds like Highsmith would fit her job description well. Boot the *****.

The lazy 3 hour corching search last year was unforgivable.
