Ferman 'rewrote' his Monday article

This sounds ominous. If the faction that wants an AD first before just firing Manny and going after Mario takes over has already won the first part of the struggle, doesn't it seem to imply that they are in control and the AD they hire will owe them one and keep Manny at least a year? Maybe im reading totally wrong but this seems like we are fcked.

That would really be Lashlee next step in becoming elite. Finding a innovative run game coordinator. Would be interesting to see if he adds that to his own staff if hired at SMU or searches that out at next OC stop. Adapting as a coach will be essential to his future career
Agree. Didn’t his wife and kids call him out because he kept calling the HB dive play?

It’s straight incompetence by him. And then to continue to call it on short yardage without your 230 pound RB.

It wouldn’t matter. There’s zero chance Manny can be retained once Lashlee leaves. That was the only card Manny could play. I’m sure he would say firing me will lose Lashlee and hurt TVD.

I can’t think of anything Manny could say that would be persuasive enough to make it a 50/50 decision.

Unless you think saving 2 million on the buyout is chump change. Recruiting is pretty much a throw away at this point. Keeping a little longer or firing him now will not change that.

I think they understand the sentiment of the fan base.
It goes down in Jan.. after early signing period. Where did you read 2 mil? That’s half. Seems high. Disagree on throw away. I think getting your guy before bowl season could help salvage it or at worst, get an early start on portal kids. At worse, “money isn’t a factor”

He was attacked by virtually the entire membership of CAnesport over his article yesterday.

He asked what exactly was said by Mike Ryan Ruiz last night ; he was holding his own weekly podcast show and missed it live. Someone posted that Ryan pretty much called him out for being a pawn of Epstein. He got a little crazy and defensive. claims he's never spoken to Epstein..

A number of people gave him the short version of what was said but he never said another word on that board last night.....

Then the article this morning......
Funny you say that. I wrote this morning Ferman got used to be part of creating the commotion. He deleted that post, lol. Then rewrote his article.

I heard it mentioned a few times by a couple of bloggers and @Cribby did confirm that.

If Mario, they actually may wait until January because his buyout will drop then as well. Heard that as well.

It's easy to say money isn't a factor when it is someone else's money.

Some recruits are waiting until Feb to sign so can see how things play out.. I think Shemar is one of those. Those that sign early will sign because they want to play here regardless.

Portal will be there after signing period so new coach will have time.

As long as you get your guy, timing is not the main thing imo.

If we got that far they are totally incompetent......what the heck makes you think they won't just keep going with it and keep him. You think they are gonna be rational?

The 2 million drop in Jan is total hogwash...
Most HC (and asst coaches) tenures run till the end of regular season... which is why heads roll between season end and bowl games.

Unless BJ totally screwed up and gave Manny something special, it is rubbish.

New coaching contracts are usually done between end of season and Jan first week so that new HCs can pick assistants at the annual coaches conference in early Jan..

Unless BJ totally screwed up and gave Manny something special, the Jan date for Manny's contract expiry is false

I’m good with most all of this if true.

Fwiw I was using their verbiage on the “$ not an issue part”. My biggest gripe with this is the bold. You better get your guy if you’re going to pass on LK/Stoops.

Waiting isn’t the end of the world.. but every day is that many fewer coaches/recruits to choose from. Is that worth 2 million? 4 million? Maybe to us. Not to others.

What a ******* joke. Telling Manny he's staying should result in getting the boot for insubordination.

Also, sounds like the old ***** are putting up a fight.which is not good. Epstein needs to go, that much is absolutely clear. I mean how much money has he donated to be able to pull **** like this?
I actually think this is just a circular regurgitation of the same story at this point. Everyone has the same story and will be running with the three faction BS until something breaks. Don't get caught up in it.

Retaining Manny Diaz without Lashlee as the OC would be the single, greatest unmitigated disaster that the off season could present.
Can you imagine giving up 30+ points per game AND not being able to score?

Let’s be honest about Lashlee. Really, really good passing game OC. His concepts work, he utilizes all his pass catching weapons and has a great feel for when to go for the big pass. Lashlee is a poor running game OC. he does not use the correct personnel groupings and is frequently outnumbered on running plays. He calls the same running plays regardless of who is the running back.
All that being what it is, the UM offense with Lashlee and TVD will average 30+ points per game as long as they are together because of the passing game.
If he is gone, we are not even a 7-5 team. We are 4-8 At best.
Lashlee is a young coordinator still figuring things out. Once he's figured out what works and doesn't he's going to be a top offensive coordinator. Our oline also is soft so that doesn't help eiether in run blocking. If he was to leave we would without a doubt have no issue getting another bad *** offensive coordinator but I would prefer Lashlee stay.

Manny's drop is not in January. It's in early Dec. Multiple people whose info I trust have said it. Mario's drop I heard was in Jan.

So waiting to fire Manny after the Duke game makes sense from the buyout perspective. Should hear about the new AD by then too is my thinking or at the least Zo being hired.

THANK YOU!!

Hilarious how so many of our fans (and some BOT members apparently) justify their obsession with keeping Diaz with "look how great our offense is doing?"..
That has LESS THAN ZERO to do with Manny, and everything to do with Lashlee (including the ****** OL run blocking and mind numbing offensive play calling at times).

Personally, I don't think Lashlee would truly want to be OC under Manny for another year....It isn't necessarily improving the trajectory of his career not being able to run the ball. It's clearly not all of his fault, but it is clearly not going to get rectified by this staff in the short term, if ever.

If TVD is what everyone says he is, and he is pretty good, then getting a new OC that doesn't change the offense TOO MUCH isn't going to hurt his ability to throw the ball...which is literally all we have right now. Imagine his performance with a true play action ability with a real running game?
