I feel like Shalala still has a lot of pull within the UM program and is force feeding James and Strawley, etc on the BOT and admin. UM doesn't want to disappoint her since she put a lot of money and time into the school being President here. Otherwise, how else can you explain the straight buffoonery going on in Coral Gables where only us fans from the outside can seemingly see what is totally obvious to everyone else outside the program?!

He just lost Josh Herbert and he bleeds orange and green. None of this matters with the right football leadership in place. This season was a disgrace and I’m sure stakeholders are taking action. Significant changes must be made to our football program.

You are paying a coach regardless who it is, so your $40mm number is double counting salaries

$8mm Oregon buyout plus Manny’s buyout around $7-$8mm.

Agree with you 100%. Just hoping the big pocket donors/BOT members who want Zo to happen win out over the Blake James crew. We will see how it plays out over the next week.
 
What if by some curse Mullen to cowboys and Mario to UF?
Saw on ESPN cowboys low key interest in Mullen

What I don't get though is why not move now, If we even think this is a possibility? It's pretty much a guarantee that Mario will get a better contract after this season, which will make it much more difficult just a year from now.
This is the type of stuff Miami constantly does to shoot themselves in the foot.

I haven't paid attention to Manny's buyout number, so your $7-8 mil is news to me..
So your telling me James paid $4 mil to get Manny, then gave him a $7-8 mil buyout after year one and the BOT approved this for a rookie HC? Jesus.. This Manny deal was one of the dumbest football moves since Ditka traded away his whole drat to get Ricky "Blunt" Williams..

if their plan is to bring in mario at some point, then yes i agree. just fire manny and bring in mario if hes a guarantee to accept. theyd need some sort of near absolute that hed accept if offered though if youre gonna move on from ur HC after a season with no real nice candidates available (this was before hirings were made).

edit -- im talking miami realistic candidates and the pool available to you when youre miami and you just axed your brand new coach bc he didnt win in year 1.

this is true. some burbs are nice in sfl (obviously like any other place in america, literally), but if youre past clubbing, not much of a diff in burbs from orlando or tampa to SFL. ****, broward burbs look like every other manicured neighborhood in the country.
