Great point. Urban would never happen but if all of a sudden there is money to buy a successful coach from Oregon and fire Manny then realistically they should be approaching every coach leading a top 25 ranked team today and big names like Urban feeling them out.

If money is no object today why limit themselves to Mario?

Not saying it’s what we should do or it’s the right hire but if the big money people want Mario for whatever reason (recruiting would be through the roof and we may catch lightning in a bottle ala LSU this year and go all the way) it’s gonna have to be done now or it won’t be remotely possible for at least 5 years. He’s gonna be extended and the buyout is gonna be hefty and probably include a clause for Miami similar to Dabo regarding Bama where they basically pay double the buyout if they want him.

Urban Meyer is not coming to Miami, nor would I want him here. My money is on Jerry Jones writing Heart Attack a blank check to bring in whoever he wants.

Listen, IF this is true about the money being there, why did we have to skimp out on staff? Richt gave us a gift of not taking the buyout, so if ALL this money is there, why didn't we have a kickass coaching staff? Why are we getting Stubblefield from Air Force? Or a fired assistant offensive line coach from Tampa Bay??

If you're Blake James, the next few weeks are going to decide your future at Miami. If you don't make changes, drastic changes NOW, it will hurt the program over the long run. Soon even the four-star kids are not going to be easy sells. Kids want to play for winners, PERIOD.

Money talks. In this imaginary world Miami has money to buy Mario and buyout Manny. The world would be their oyster. They could go grab Gus from Auburn and give him a stupidly insane deal where he knows his job is safe for 7 years instead of at risk every second year.

Because Manny doesn't want people who are smarter than him. Manny doesn't want anyone to challenge what he says. He wanted yes men on defense and that's what we have.

And that's why the defense regressed this year, and got too cute with really stupid exotic blitz packages.

Manny was right: an aggressive defense is the best kind of defense for the speed we recruit in Miami. But even if you are the smartest guy in the room, you know what happens? You paint a target on your back and the rest of the people in the room scheme around your strategies. We've regressed on the defensive line; an absolutely crucial part of an aggressive defense, that improved us dramatically when Coach Kul showed up. Yes, he was a lazy recruiter; but he could **** sure coach guys up.

At this point, I'm not sure what you do. IF there are angel donors that will produce cash for Christobal, fine. Personally, I don't believe it.

But you're still going to need $ for coordinators. Are they going to pony up the big bucks for that? I doubt it. They either didn't do it with Diaz, or Diaz said he could go to Dollar Store for his coaches when he needed to go to Kay Jewelers.

actually Stroud was the COS before he went to Dl and he was under Diaz. So unless the role changes for the next hire, they would also be under Diaz
 
Say no to Mario. Mario is the type of coach u give a good program to and have him sustain it. I dont see him as a program builder and thats what we need.
