Feeling a little nervous about tonight

See the 3rd sentence in original post. It is meaningless to anyone outside the program, of course it has meaning to the players and coaches, who want to win.
I also would like to see them win, but in my opinion this game is not going to have any effect on the trajectory of this program. Hiring an innovative OC and QB coach, recruiting a capable QB, getting our young QBs game experience are things that could help this program in the future, but Mark Richt has decided not to do any of those things. Sending Rosier out on high note, does nothing for this program in long term. At the end of the day, we still have Mark Richt as our HC/OC and have his son as our QB coach.
I’m just a believer in bowl games carrying you into next season. Butch was winning bowl games before the explosion in 2000 and the win against WVU produced a 10 win season, whereas the loss last year was followed by this 7-5 season. I don’t ever really think these games are meaningless. Even early on in his tenure at Alabama, Saban was using these small bowl games for a directional purpose.
