Feel like we're sleeping on Collins Acheampong

Looks like a redshirt candidate to me. In 2 years he will be a 6-7 280lb problem. Right now, his HS tape looks slow/hesitant and there is a lack of technique. Upside is he looks eager to play, just needs to learn what he is doing. He doesn't seem to have the speed of guys he is compared to like Clowney and Rousseau. Deforest Buckner is better.

How long do one's arms have to be in order to grasp at straws?

He needs to add some muscle but his frame has unlimited potential like Rousseau did. Difference is he came in with the weight already he just needs to really dedicate himself in the gym

He’s closer to Calais than Greg body wise. Bain, Wayne and Collins are going to be a nightmare to handle. But I think Collins is last out of the gate across those three and will most likely shirt this season.
Forgetting Kelly and Moss are both young as well. Should be an exciting group next two years.

That's why this 2024 class is so pivotal for the DL. Land a few more big fish and we have back-to-back-to-back Top 10 DL, which was always a staple of our championship teams. With Guidry's line approach, we are in for some fun in the sun.

he's 275 right now atleast. lol (He actually posted himself at 273 over a montha go)

I dont see him as an edge at all he will be an interior guy to me..similar to the Campbell transfer we just took

"This is an edge player with elite length (6-foot-7, 83-inch wingspan) and fluid movements. It's not surprising he played basketball. During the camp circuit his junior year, Acheampong quickly created a buzz with his performance, including a blazing 7.33 L-drill in what he said was his first time performing the quickness and change-of-direction test. It may take a little time to further develop in Miami, but players with his size and mobility are in high demand."

You can't coach his measurables.

That sounds like a jab at Miami. Why not say it may take a little time to develop instead of emphasizing the “in Miami” as if you’re saying he would be developed faster elsewhere 🤦🏾‍♂️.
We definitely have developed some good D-ends in the last 7-8 years.

I don't get how "we're sleeping" on a True Frosh who hasn't even had his first fall camp yet... Let the young man get acclimated and put some work in... He'll work out fine for us...

He’d rapidly progress and be on the Rousseau track if not for his injury. Mario is recruiting body types and he absolutely nailed it with this kid

JPP type? Maybe

This kid's nothing like Rousseau. GR15 played WR, Safety, and DL in HS, He would've been a take at all 3. While Acheampong looked like a developmental prospect in HS.
