Has he redshirted? Would Covid let him get a medical redshirt?

Edit - I just remembered he played 4 games last year before sitting out. I believe he have to see if Covid lets him apply for a medical.
 
I know it's a not likely to happen, but if a kid gets pretty sick and ends up in the hospital, is the school going to pay for it? Living through that and getting a nice hospital bill ain't gonna be pleasant.

No. They will be out of pocket for those expenses.
 
How about if a player tests positive, move the following week 's ham to the end of the season. Then when all the games are done, start the bowls.

Gonna say it's less than likely all bowls get played. More likely to see some expansion of playoff than get 40+ bowls.

It's possible, but there's a lot of money in bowl games. Not just the attendance, but also tv. The only thing is that the timing of bowl games is what makes them attractive. If they weren't to take place over the holidays, it might be different.

The big question is that if they do skip them, will they return to normal next year?

Although not in my nature, I wish the tv people would put more pressure on them if it comes from pure money interest. Canes would benefit from TV greed -- nobody can match our rating power if we get back in play. The pressure could flow down to our BOT and administration to win or get thrown out. Take all the playoff teams from the beginning of the playoffs, what matchup would get hirer ratings than Miami vs "pick any one of them"?

Yea fair point. I am curious on the revenue on bowl games, attendance vs TV. I thought attendance was still a big part of the revenue for these bowl sites.

To answer your second part I hope this causes a shrinking of the bowl games. There are too many to begin with.

This is a terrible take. If you think there are too many, simply don't watch. Don't take football from everyone else that enjoys it, even if the games are somewhat meaningless.

When you are allowing teams that are below .500 to participate in bowls because you have too many it's a problem. And the games aren't somewhat meaningless they are meaningless. Players have proven that to you by skipping the games all together now.

I would have to disagree based on this sounds like a frontrunner argument. Alot of the players skip those games because they put themselves before the team, school, and teammates. Some people call it smart others call it lack of integrity...

Agree to disagree here. Too many factors to judge an individual's reasoning behind them sitting out. Everyone wants to tell you what you should do without knowing the circumstances.

I know plenty of gamblers who appreciate the extra bowl games even without the selfish sitting out.

Ok I can't argue with that, but if you don't like them you can simply not watch them and they will have no bearing on your life lol. I'll gladly watch a crappy bowl game over another rerun of the big bang theory
