Favorite Canes game you have seen

Miami vs California 2024 has to top them all in terms of sheer excitement and a ludicrous comeback.

Miami vs Florida State 2000 is probably the most satisfying though, particularly for what it represented (a restoration).

Other favorites:
1992: Miami vs Florida State
2003: Miami vs Florida
2004: Miami vs Louisville
2009: Miami vs Oklahoma
2012: Miami vs Georgia Tech
2017: Miami vs Notre Dame

I was fortunate to be in the OB for every major game beyond the year 2000. I can safely say I have never been in a more electric environment than the 2017 ND game. That is the loudest I have ever heard a stadium get. Absolute pandemonium.

Miami - Nebraska 1983.
This!
Everything had to go right in the other games that day to put the #5 Canes in a position to play for it all. Gotta hand it to Osborne for laying it all on the line and going to two at the end of this game after trailing by 17 at the end of the 1st. There was no overtime back then and a tie would have all but assured the Huskers of a natty. Everyone went nuts after this game!

Miami/FSU 2000. Hottest day ever and most important game of my lifetime.
First football game of any kind I ever attended. 5th Grade without any prior interest or knowledge of the sport. Invited on a whim by a classmate whose dad had tix and told him he could bring a friend. Truly a transformational experience. I look back and I conceptualize two childhoods: Before October 7, 2000 and After October 7, 2000.

The very next day I was glued to the TV for NFL Sunday, checking out football books from the library, and that same week I begged my mom to sign me up for pop-warner (season was almost over at that point and they didn't let me register, but started playing the next year). Life-altering football game, for me.

Watching- 01 Rose Bowl. Total domination. Looked like we had 15 guys on defense.

In person- Too many to list, but that UW whooping was epic because everyone in the stadium knew what was about to happen.
^^This^^ I had tickets for the game that was originally scheduled for September and my sister intentionally scheduled her wedding for November so I wouldn't miss the game. Game ended up be rescheduled for the same day of her wedding. Luckily, it was early and me and one of her groomsmen drove down to the game from Cocoa. Got there right at kickoff and loved every second of that beating.

Live: 2000 FSU
1998 UCLA - was sitting right behind the bench and after Edge's first few carries, I yelled to some friends that I give him the ball until he dropped. He apparenlty heard me because he turned around, smiled and nodded.
1991 @FSU - had just moved to Tally for a job and loved seeing all of the dejection.
2001 @FSU - loved breaking their home winning streak
2002 FSU - OB was hot as **** and no water, but game was fire.

Impossible task but 10 off top of my head:

1988 Michigan comeback in Ann Arbor
1994 FSU
1988 Nebraska Orange Bowl
2000 FSU
2002 Florida in Gainesville
2001 Rose Bowl Nebraska
2003 FSU rain Sean Taylor
1989 Wisconsin
1998 UCLA
2000 Sugar Bowl Florida

2000 vs FSU. That game solidified we was back and on top of the college football world once again. Plus it featured so many future NFL stars from both teams.

1991 and 1992 vs FSU. Two of the hardest hitting games you’ll ever see.

In order of those I’ve seen to just name a few

2017 Notre Dame
2000 Florida
2003 Florida
2013 Florida
2024 Florida
1998 UCLA
2009 FSU
2020 FSU
2017 VT
2009 Oklahoma
2016 West Virginia

I've been to 3 NC games and countless other big games dating from the mid to late 80's. I could list different favorites depending on stakes, criteria, etc.

The one that first came to mind though was the Berlin comeback against the Gators. Devin lives up to the hype and houses the opening kickoff. We eventually fall behind by 23 points and seem dead to rights midway through the third. We do some things and you're still thinking there's no way, just no way. The rest, it's history and the roller coaster ride was unlike any other game I've been to.

That game literally had it all and perfectly exemplifies the ride a sport can take you on as a spectator.

2001 - Washington - My best friend and I said we have to go see a game this year. What game to go? Washington, they'll be ****ed about the loss last year and beat their ***! Well, the game was scheduled for the weekend after September 11th, so it got postponed to the end of the season! So, there was a lot on the line with the game! Ken Dorsey said "That was the loudest he had ever heard the Orange Bowl!" I agree, it was such a fun game!! One of the best memories of my life!!!!!

2000 Miami vs FSU was the best game I ever went to.

Honorable mention to more recent games NCSU in 2020 and Cal last season.

First post…

Live it was 89 ND - and the 3rd and 43. Huge game and massive win in what was among the premier rivalries in college ball in those days.

Washington beat down in 2001 and UF 2024 are up there.

Watched 83 Nebraska on TV, first football game I ever watched and was hooked as a Canes fan for life right then and there.

So many good FSU games.. in the 80s and 90s, but also more recently, the Darryl Langham game, and the 2020 beat down..

2000 FSU they ran out of cups.
My wife was visibly pregnant with my oldest and they filled plastic gloves with water for her.
Amazing game.

Miami/FSU 2000. Hottest day ever and most important game of my lifetime.
Great choice D Money and yes it was while being super exciting to the last play, a FG attempt by FSU to win the game. WIDE RIGHT and we win AGAIN! Although the OB classic vs ND vs UM, a 1989 November night game as we beat the #1 Irish was a classic and the loudest game I've attended.
