FAU Vs FIU

Never understand why we beat up on Butch. He gave us some of our greatest moments...

Because he bailed for the NFL.

Because he used the tragic deaths of Bryan Pata and Sean Taylor to negatively recuit against The U.

Bingo.

Howard bailed, JJ bailed, Dennis bailed, and Dennis left us in a mess. A mess Butch clean up and left us with probably the great two teams of starters in history. If you are going to hate Butch you need to hate those others too. Coker stayed, do you love him for it? Randy didn't bail, how about him? Get over this crap, Butch is coaching someplace else so he means nothing to me now but I hope we never play FIU while he is there. Remember playing NC while he was there?

You must not realize we play them next year September 22nd

I’m focused on NC so nope. Crap. Well I will be rooting for my boy Butch to get the butt whipping of his life. My family fought on both sides in the Civil War so I understand sometimes you need to just kill a loved one. Didn’t we play Howard at Louisville once?

Howard built a National Championship program from the scrapheap.
JJ rebranded the program into a National Champion we loved, and many, many hated.
Erickson extended the legacy with a 2X-National Champion. And yes, left the program in probation ****.

Do we recognize the pattern here? National Champion.

I give Butch all the credit he deserves for rebuilding the program from probation. His player evaluation skills were top shelf.

But he left a potentially multi-time National Champion over a financial dispute. He could have have a run like Pete Carroll at USC or Nick Saban at Bama. And then left for the NFL, like Carroll. I always thought Butch would want a HC gig in the NFL. The Houston Texas were in the planning stages and Butch was an obvious candidate for the job, given his time in Texas with the Cowboys.

Howard's USFL gig never materialized but his legacy remains as 'the man who built The U'.

Butch will be remembered for leaving a juggernaut for a floundering NFL organization, the Cleveland Browns; an all-time epic fail.
