Fastest Cane 40yds/100yds...What say you??

Yes, that's from the combine.

And, again, prior to '99 these were hand timed even at the combine - so it had a bit more inaccuracy - faster or slower.

Is this only combine times? He ran faster than 4.4 many times.

I remember Al Shipman. Played back in the early/mid 90's if I remember correctly? Reserve running back who was lightning in a bottle.

Track Speed vs FB Speed (Pads etc...) are two different Animals....Some kids have both...
Willie Gault
Hester
Renaldo Nehimiah..etc
Some kids just Track Speed...
John Capel...etc...

I know Jammi....no way on earth is that true...A

Horace Copeland wouldn't agree...or Brian Blades for that matter....Blades had World Class Speed....

Look it up . At a state sanctioned football combine in Ft. Myers back in 92 or 93 its reported that three seperate coaches clocked him at 4.15 - 4.16 and 4.19

Better yet. If you know him ask him.

Dude was fast.

Go Canes!!

Before his injuries didn't Najeh run anchor on the Miami 4x relay team? At 220-230 pounds? Fantastic speed for a big man.

I've thought he was one of the more underrated players of that period. Miami RB history would be very different with Najeh's injuries. Portis may have been a career back up.

Al Shipman is the HC at PBL right now & his D Coordinator is Mike Lawson, they both coached Gurvan Hall before he transferred to PBG for his Senior year.

But they both played a part in us getting in on Gurvan early & keeping Bama off him.

Well I'm going with DVD since he's got the fastest official 40 of any Cane in history.
On the field I'm going with Hester.
200+ pound club I'm going with McGahee or Lamar Miller. Official 4.40 at the combine @ 212lbs!
