Fastest Cane 40yds/100yds...What say you??

I know most peeps will automatically say Santana...Parrish...Hester etc...for 40yds....but I'm gonna disagree....
In all my yrs of watching UM FB...the Fastest 35-40yds player I've seen was 90s RB Al (froggy) Shipman...alot of the older Canes know what I'm talking about (Brooklyndee knows)....Fast isn't the word....
For 100yds....I'd go with either Horace Copeland (Big East 100 Champ) or Brian Blades (there's a reason Deion covered him in 86 & 87....Kid without a doubt had World Class speed...bro Bennie was a World Class 400 guy (was invited to Olympics)...but I'm gonna go with Horace....(PS)...I know some will disagree on the Shipman pick....but trust me...for those that saw him run...They'll agree.....

Tory Mitchell is the answer for the 100 if you want to count him.

Daryl Jones was an actual Big East 55m champion (x1) and 100m champion (x2). It was said that Santana would nose him out in the shorter races in practices.

"Santana's better in the shorter stuff, in the 40, 50 meters," track coach Mike Ward said. "Daryl in the 100 meters, he's by far the top kid that's come through here."

Since they started doing the electric timing at the NFL combine (in '99 I think), DVD has had the fastest time at 4.28.

Of course, that's only out of the Canes who went to the combine and ran it.

Beyond this, I don't know - there have been a lot of good hand times over the years, but those just aren't as reliable.

But I can't imagine we've had too many other players who could legitimately run in the 4.2s.

I'm sure we've had a couple others, but without the greater reliability as with the way timings are done now, it's just opinion.

What if we looked at it in weight classes?
-under 200 lbs
-200 to 250 lbs
-250 to 300 lbs
-over 300 lbs

Who ya got?

200-250 Would have to be Willis McGahee or Andre Johnson.

How about the 20 yard dash? The one that probably means more for most positions?

If so, Devin Freakin Hester is the fastest football player I've ever seen over that distance.
