FAMU Post Game Plus/Minus

I think everybody needs to settle down. True freshman QB's never do great. Yes, the play calling in the first game was a mistake. They tried to protect him too much. The defense is light years ahead of the last couple years. We still won 41-7 with points left out there. Fl ST only beat citadel 37-12. Alabama won 41-0. That would've been our score without that punt issue. It seems like people on this board are never happy. We've heard about the D for years. They're actually improved and all I hear is how a freshman QB isn't lighting up the scoreboard. Think we would all feel different if Williams didn't get hurt. Injuries aren't the coaches fault. Let's support the program instead of trying to run the coaches out of town. Nothing positive comes from all of this negativity. The coaching staff will be gone if this team is as bad as you think.

It is not the score, it is how we looked. We have things to work on that did not get better this week. Bama and FSU are in very different places from us. Kayaa is not throwing the ball with authority.

This is a bad football team. Slow, weak, bad OL, poor play calling, no QB.

Gonna be a long year.

MINUS:

We're 1-9 against the spread in our last 10 games.

That's a right proper sign of some 'quality' corching.

Coley makes everything look hard on O. Wth. We sucked on 3rd down again. This guy calls an awful game. Nothing seems to build off of earlier calls.

What is the staple of this offense? Stretch run, power, wide receiver screen? I have no idea! It seems like a mashed together pile of garbage.

THIS!!!! He calls plays like he's picking them outta a fuccin grab bag!

The defense allowed about 116 total yards the whole game.

Thats a huge improvement over years past. Yes I know the opponent but they for the most part stopped Louisville too considering the awful offense.

Plus:
Yearby passed Gus on the depth chart.
Minus:
Gus shouldn't get any carries, ever.

For all the people talking about how great our defense looks now, lets wait until we play someone good before we start sucking them off. Last year, a bunch of you were real convinced that our defense was great and I kept telling people wait until UNC, because they were the first team we played with a pulse in the pass game. We proceeded to get abused by them and WF the next week and even let Logan Thomas abuse us.

And seriously, I will not be using Nebraska as a measuring stick. They are the same as Florida last year, no passing game and they looked awful against Mcneese.

Just watched the game. The biggest tragedy here is that there is no QB coach on this team. What the **** does James Coley know about coaching QBs? He was a WR, RB, and TE coach, who Jimbo mostly let be "OC" to keep him satisfied b/c he can recruit. Brad Kaaya looks like a kid who has zero coaching. I know he's a freshman, but he looks terrible. James Coley may be the worst coordinator we have ever had.

If, and this is the biggest IF I've ever stated, but if this team can get the O going, we could be decent....but, I highly doubt it.

Louisville has a pretty decent offense that put up 66 against Murray state which is more than FSU with a Heisman QB put up against a similar outclassed opponent.

Defense preformed well today please give credit where it's due. FSU gave up 3 times as much yards to Citadel. How the dense performs at a later date does not take away from a pretty good performance today. It's our offense that needs some work.

+ Duke, Denzell, Ambrister, Berrios, Dorsett and Yearby.
The D still looking improved.
- Kaaya being taken out of the game to give Heaps some reps. Kaaya needs as many garbage reps as possible. Should have kept him in the entire game.
O-line.
Coaching.

Can you believe Coley only has nine yards receiving through two games? We were expecting this dude to break Hurns' and Hankerson's records this year....

Brad Kaaya should have thrown it 30-35 times Saturday. Get him more comfortable. Still looks nervous, unsure, holds the ball too long, throws off of his back foot. He needs ALOT of work. He's still not ready for primetime.
