We also didn’t offer Newton, his teammate, until he was a few weeks past his NC State commit. Then flipped him shortly afterwards in August.

Exactly. The national media has been pretty consistent with teams like Miami, OSU, Ole Miss, UGA and a few others. Basically acknowledging that we are good teams and playoff caliber teams. I haven't seen anyone in the media pick us to be #1 or talk about us that much.

With Notre Dame and Texas, its pure glazing by the national media.

Still hard to believe this is where we are four years after Middle Tennessee carved us up for 400 yards passing. I thought i'd be in **** forever at that point.

Outside of us for some reason I think Ole miss is being underrated out of the bunch, I see media hype up Lane and lsu more.. Chambliss coming back and having full season, he has shown he is better than majority of these QBs they try to hype up and he has his flaws. Their offense should still be top notch and they did a good job in portal on defense..

Their DB core might not be championship level tho..

I don’t think there is any doubt we had Carter graded as a “whale” player in that class. Him and Stancil are the building blocks for the future of that position.
 
Is he the most productive defensive lineman we’ve acquired since Bain? The answer is yes.

True. LSU is getting a ton of hype because of the Lane effect for a team that was mid last year. I've seen them in about everybody's projected playoff bracket so far. I don't think LSU will sniff the playoffs. Will probably be 2-3 wins better than last year. Well, maybe that would put them in the playoff conversation since they are in the SEC. It would also be amazing if Texas and Sark would fall flat on their faces this year.

The thing is they have alot of talent coming in and Blake Baker seems to be decent enough fit with continuity. ALOT of coaches across country have talked about having more access in offseason to players and OTAs and such make it much easier to install and have better learning curve so I would assume their offense will be good, I just always looked at Sam Leavitt as erratic, will give you some good highs but not consistent enough to avoid crazy lows, can they coach it out of him, I wouldnt bet on it..

I thought this was a typo. But if Congdon is ready to play, i trust mirabol totally. But next year with Congdon, Cantwell, Jaden W., and Max - the OLine will be scary.

Idk about Wilkerson. Seem like he is making progress but seems like the younger guys are already passing him up. And throw ervin name in there

The practice started inside the IPF and then moved outside for the second portion. From what I remember from the first portion, Thornton had an INT on a short route. Bryce had a really nice pass breakup on a sideline throw. I was actually standing right by Bryce's mother and talking with her during the first portion. Dereon Coleman throws a beautiful deep ball, and his release looks effortless. He looked to me to be the second-best QB on the team after Mensah, talent-wise. During the outdoor second portion, I was talking with Rumph on the sideline. Mallory had a huge long TD run, and Rumph told me that he reminds him of freshman-year Frank Gore. For those of you who don't remember, Frank Gore averaged 9.1 yards per carry during his freshman year in 2001! Rumph said that Mallory has incredible vision, just like Frank, and that he makes at least one spectacular play every day. Sounds like we have a real stud on our hands. He is fourth on the depth chart right now. Also, Canes great Robert Bailey was right by Rumph and me and told us that Frank is the only client that he and Rosenhaus have had that got 5 NFL contracts in his career, with each successive contract being larger than the previous. Cam Vaughn looked great and had a long TD catch. He is a big WR. Thankfully, no one got hurt, and the practice was a great success. Daylyn Upshaw made a really nice play inside the IPF, too. Mali is Mali, and it's extremely tough for anyone to cover him. He put on a lot of muscle and should be unstoppable this year. Bryce also put on a lot of muscle and looks like a unit. I met Pruitt's mom, too, and he should get a lot of burn this year. After the practice, there was a BBQ for the players, their families, and the invitees, catered by Mission BBQ. My son and I got our plates and ended up sitting at a random table. Jaboree "Slime" Antoine's family was sitting at the table with us, and I spoke with his mom a lot. I told her how I was so impressed with how he stepped up in the Fiesta Bowl vs Ole Miss when Lucas got thrown out for targeting, and she said he should get a lot of burn this year, and he's 100% fully recovered from the ACL injury he suffered his senior year in high school. Saw Camdin Portis as we were leaving and spoke to him as I attended UM with his dad. He said he wanted to wear 28 like his dad, but another player has it and didn't want to give it up, so he settled on 21. It was a great day. As we were walking back to our car, we saw Mark Fletcher and the new RV that Playmaker bought for his mom. We didn’t see Playmaker, though my son did get an awesome photo with Mark in front of the RV! Hope you enjoy my summary. GO CANES 🙌

Was Thirbert Scroggins practicing, or did you see him in a full body cast?
